    Brought a couple bottles of Maotai back from a China trip, stuff is really weird. Always pour a bit a tastings for those who haven't had it. Most people don't like it... I'm not even sure I do.

    Calling Maotai disgusting doesn't come close... it tasted like old gym socks that had soaked in rubbing alcohol to me.

    When I was at KOVAL they were helping "a special client" formulate a domestic recipe. Then Three Floyds picked up a load of Bourbon Barrels and one of their Brewers attended KOVAL's Distilling Technology course.... wonder if Three Floyds will be using Kothe Stills.

    Back to Maotai: I'm sure it'll be a stupid fad like "Malort Face" is now (and I actually enjoy Malort / Wormwood as a flavor).

    Man, that old bar is tiny. Smaller than Small Bar Logan or The Matchbook tiny. Depending on how much of the surrounding is on the same lot and can be demolished, I'm not sure it was enough space for them to do it.

    I agree. I had my first BN this year and was amazed how much better than it was than KBS.

    BCBS is exceptonal when you want your BA stout to be flavored heavily with bourbon barrell flavor.Black Note is more balanced and KBS is heavy with coffee. Do you like ketchup on hot dogs? McDonalds or Wendys? Porche or ????
