    English Pale Ale or ESB.

Oktoberfest/Marzen. I think this one would be very interesting when it comes to ingredient selection and process.

I think dark mild has a lot of exploratory space. And I believe April is session beer month or something to that effect. Scottish ale might also be a good one, as there are lots of ways to go (not all historically accurate, necessarily, from what we've read). A 60 shilling take would be consistent with that session theme. And folks who didn't want session strength could always add more base grain (that could even be a published variant).

Question is, can an AP recipe be ready by April? Those polls seem to take a long time to resolve the details.

I really like the idea of a Octoberfest, it would be interesting. Timing wise, I don't know that it would Work though. This beer will probably be ready for the summer, and this is not really a summer beer. We need to remember Octoberfest for the next one maybe.

I also like the idea of a Weißbier, maybe even an optional (dry) hopped version for people who want to do that sort of thing. As it turns out, I have some extra wheat in my grain inventory that I have to use up as well.

Yeah we could probably shorten the voting period.

Although I have sometimes found the process slow, there are always unexpected insights. If we had to vote on whether it should be a shorter process, I'm not sure which way I would vote. Plus, voting on the process would prolong the process!

My thoughts on shortening the process.... If there were less steps, I would be making assumptions about some things rather than polling them. Of course, I'd limit that to things that seem fairly obvious to me, but I've been pretty surprised by some of the results the past. And I try pretty hard to not influence the results.

    Thought altbier was an ale?

I'm pulling for an american pils, maybe a german pils.

Edit, in the spirit of session beer day something under % 5 woyld be cool. English mild, bitter, kolsch, grisette. Just not another goddamned ipa.

Keep doing it how you do it. I mostly mentioned the length with respect to trying to target some specific brewing event like session ale month or Octoberfest. If that's the part of the decision, then time could be a consideration.

Unrelated: Have you brewed each of the recipes? Do you have favorites? For me, I never really liked my IPAs until I made the first APAIPA. I also liked the NEIPA. I didn't care so much for the saison -- mine seemed too phenolic for me.

My votes would go to weissbier, witbier, English porter or Tripel.
