Hey Doc, thanks for sharing. You have very valid points...I guess it comes down to how you feel about the extras and what your perception of the "extras" are and their value. Cheers.

I'll probably wind up going even though Agrestic isn't one of my favorites. I am interested in trying Feral Vinifera though. If you can't make it up there, I can pick up some bottles for you. We can meet over at Enegren like we did last time.

Thanks for thinking of me! I'll check in with you next week and let you know if I'm going.

Quick question to those who went for the Bretta Weisse release - was there a 45 minute wait at the bar to get a beer as it was at the Bretta Rose release? Or the ticketed approach solved that issue (or maybe there are more employees to pour beer)?

There was no wait anywhere, at least with the afternoon session. They had 3-4 beers behind the bar and then another 3-4 stations pouring other things.

    ticket approach solved everything.

About 5 stations with 2-3 beers each with no line to any of them. Since it came with the purchase of the tickets, you just had a voucher to pick up your bottles and then there you bought your krieky bones and there was never more than 4 people in line from what I saw.

Really, really REALLY laid back release.

It was like going to Costco before it was open, with no lines for the food samples

That makes it really really tempting. I wasn't a big fan of the Bretta Rose approach. I only had a few tasters and I had to leave to avoid the long line. Can Cantillon move the stupid Zwanze day please?

This is really why there are a bunch of us are totally looking forward to this one. I was at Bretta Rose release and it was a cluster f*ck with the tasters; not to mention the hour or longer wait getting in. We voiced our opinions and FW took note. Next release (Bretta Weisse) was ticketed...was almost too easy actually. Never been at a more chill release in my life.

Yep, I had 40 minutes of apoplectic rage waiting in line at the BR release (okay, more like two hours altogether) and vowed to never go to another release... but then when BW was announced with a different format, decided to give it a shot and absolutely loved it. Even if I didn't "get my money's worth" in free pours at the BW event, being able to just wander around and get my glass refilled at will with amazing stuff made me completely satisfied.

I like the ticketed release, but I'm not liking the price points for this one, mainly the three bottle ticket.

Then get the six. You end up paying just a little less than a $20 spot for endless pours and there's going to be food at this one.

Really, there hasn't been a time I've gone to barrel works and dropped less than $40 on tasters alone. So having that endless pour option on the 6-7 or so beers that would normally be up on the board... yeah, no brainer for me.

I bet that there is not going to be a specific limit on either the $75 or $100 tickets. It's more about what the limit is on total tickets sold (300?). Once total capacity is reached in tickets sold, the event would then be sold out. There's plenty of beer for 300 people even if they maxed out limits. So those of you worried about getting stuck with the cheaper ticket with not as good of a deal, not sure I would worry. This is my theory.

I agree with that theory. If people just choose the $100 package, then that just means less run off cases for folks waiting till Sunday to get bottles.

Didn't I hear that neither Agresric of Feral Vinifera would be available Sunday? I think FW wants to avoid any sort of day-after release.

Feral vinifera will not be available outside of the liberation. Agrestic will be.

I know it's been said that Feral Vinfiera won't be seen outside the event but the math doesn't add up.

    300 cases of Feral Vinifera
Event rumored to be ~ 300 people.
    Limit of 6 per person.

Where's the other ~ 150 cases going to go? They may just release bits at a time on random days.

Are the bottles to be purchased room temp?

At all the last releases the bottles have always been cold.

EDIT; misquote, "Then get the six. You end up paying just a little less than a $20 spot for endless pours and there's going to be food at this one. "
Right, but two tickets and I'm out $200 without any feral vinafera. I would just prefer some... Cheaper options. Their anniversary party has unlimited food and tasters for nothing extra on top of the bottle cost. That's all.

Despite what they said, it's going to have to be available outside of the event or they are going to lift the bottle limits, regardless it's a lot of beer to move in one day for 300 people. And re-releasing it for later releases seems lame.
