Guess i know how long ill need to age this next release of Bretta Rose. Not that it isnt good fresh but a little less sweetness does wonders to this beer.

Only bottles they had for sale the day before and after were Feral Vin and Lil Opal (limit 2).

Unless you count the (i heard) 8 wood boxes that had 2 bottles of F1B2 + F1B1. Both the box and the bottles were signed. Needless to say they were gone 30 seconds after Barrelworks opened on Sunday morning.

I seriously do not believe that Batch 2 is sold out. They didn't even sell all of the available tickets on Eventbrite before sales ended. Also, by looking at the photos that they posted online earlier the place was half empty (compared to previous events). I would not be surprised to see bottles trickling into the taprooms for purchase in the coming weeks. It is a well known fact that they hold back inventory of "sold out" beers for future sales.

They definitely didn't sell out completely, since I and others didn't max out all 12 bottles, and they said they had enough for everyone to do so. I assume they mean they're "sold out," in the sense that they aren't selling more right now. Doubtless, they'll pop up at Barrelworks and maybe Paso at random times.

As to it looking empty, that's mostly because they shut down the restaurant and bar to the public and opened that space for the event. They also cleared a little room in the main area.

Well there must be some confusion and I can talk to our social media person, but I can tell you that it is definitely a new batch and not what was released last summer.

Yeah, I know they hold plenty of bottles back after they "sell out". (There was a rumor they were going to be offering Barrelworks verticals for purchase at the end of the year) I was just surprised to hear that it was no longer on the shelf considering they didn't sell all available tickets and since the last F1 batch sat on the shelf for 6 straight weeks before it was no longer available.

No clue. That's what they responded under Bretta Rose picture.

May be a long shot, but is there an article or blog post or maybe at least someone has some notes from the food pairings from last liberation?

You could try combing through the Untappd photos from each of the beers. I remember seeing a bunch of pictures of the food pairing signs.

Thanks! I'll do that! I'm also hoping for someone having a picture of the map or something, but yeah, untappd should be a good source.

I annihilated that foie gras table. Son, it wasn't even a joke how I handled it. That reduced Bretta Rose raspberry sauce came correct.

Everything about that Bretta Rose corner was the highlight of the day for me. I'll be maxing as much as my wallet and wife allow me to when it's released this year.

I didn't like batch 2 nearly as much when I had it the other day. The bottles are overcarbonated by a touch and the beer just wasn't nearly as good as the first batch. That being said, I thought batch 1 was exceptional and loved the subtle lemon notes that I got out of it. I hope it ages better and have loved most other barrelworks sours.

The first Feral One release was on March 8, 2014, right? I'm going to crack one open this weekend to see how a year has changed it.

If we're talking over carbonated. I have yet to open a Batch 1 bottle that upon uncaging the cork, it popped itself.

All the Agrestic bottles I've opened have been gushers, but have had no problems with the carbonation on the F1b2.
