Next Founders Backstage?

A gruit.

 

Wish they would bring back Doom again.

 

Newaygo County Cherry (or a similar BA fruit beer) or Mackinaw Fudge Donkey Stout (or a similar coffee beer).

 

I hope CBS comes out by the end of this year, and the distributors weren't just playing a prank on me.

 

I would love to see Cashew Mountain Brown out again as that beer eluded me the last time they made it and it sounds right in my wheel house.

I'm not even going to try and cite this as I honestly don't remember if I heard it from a friend, at the brewery or read it on here but I seem to remember hearing/reading that CMB 'falls off' rather quickly which is why they've never bottled it. Does anyone else remember this?

That BA Sumatra Mountain brown they had on tap at KBS 2012 was the cat's pajamas, so I've always hoped to see that show up as a Backstage release.

 

CBS would be tough in the volume they've been doing for Backstage Releases...they are limited by the number of barrels they can get from Bliss. I highly doubt they're doing enough barrel aged maple syrup volume to provide high enough count for a full scale bottle release.

 

The BA Sumatra Brown was the single best beer I have ever had from Founders.

I sat there drinking both that afternoon, having been in line since 6:30 am, in a state of shock somewhere between relief that I snagged half a case and disbelief that I just stood in line that long for half a case. I felt as if I should have ONLY been drinking KBS, as if ordering anything other than it was cheating ... but once I tasted it, the BA Sumatra Mountain Brown was just too damn good to pass up.

Don't they give the CBS barrels back to Blis for that hot sauce? Ooh, maybe they could make a bourbon/maple/hotsauce barrel aged beer.

 

IIRC Ithaca did a beer in Tobasco barrels a few years ago called 'tastes like burning'. Founders could do Spite in those, I'd try it!!

 

Please don't give them any magnifico ideas..

 

Mind you I was a few KBSs deep at the time, but I'm pretty sure that I read on a flier hanging above the urinal at Nick Fink's bar in Grand Rapids that CBS wasn't going to be brewed again. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

 

Pretty sure that's what people say about most beers. They'd be crazy not to.

 

My distributor gave me a list of what the Founders BS releases will be and also when they will be released.... for the whole year. Unfortunately, I can't divulge the info, lest I lose my allotments of said beers from Founders.

 

And the point of posting this is?

 

Putting the BS in Founder's BS Series.

When I was at Founders a month or so ago one of the bartenders told me they were planning on doing something with hot sauce...wouldn't elaborate on it though.

 

Hope it isn't a hot sauce beer unless it's a subtle chipotle like stone porter.
