so far most people interested have good trade history,

if anyone doesn't have a lot of trades please message and will try and work something out

also was thinking for pay outs, one person gets paid for every 10 people
    up to 30

so if we have 30 guys top 3 would win boxes, obvisoulyt 1st place would get most and so forth,

but i don't think we should cap league at 30 guys,

Yes, I ran this last year. I'm fine with the new person taking this over. It would be good to make sure everyone has a good trade history, since a few people never shipped last year. I did check histories then but I guess I should have been more thorough. It seems like a lot of people skip out on these I was owed boxes in two other fantasy football leagues and never received. I used to have their names but lost them in the forum transition.

Good luck to the organizer. It was a lot more work than I expected.

Alright guys been thinking alot about this lately
The general consenus is that this is a tough league to run. Because people forget to ship or disappear. Well i know no one that signs up will have this probelm.

But what i have decided is when information is collected. Name email. Address
Phone number. Id like you to include 2 references. The first will be someone that you have previously traded with that will take responsibility for your box if you dissapear. Also id like another reference this i would prefer a local beer advocate member that can be contacted to help reach out to you. Preferably someone you know personally.

Sorry if this sounds rude on my part. I just wanna make sure the winners having no probelms receiving there boxes.

Thanx again everyone. As soon has yahoo opens there league i will beging collection of info

Once we have all teams signed up. I will run a poll to determine how many place winners will recieve boxes.

Also i feel we should do minimum 48 oz per box.

i was in JPMClaug's survivor pool, and correct me if i am wrong JP, but there was like 50 people in it and the when there were two people left, they decided to split it prizes, each got 24 boxes. one suggestion, just for ease for the organizer is maybe cap the pool at a survivable number, whatever that number is.

Missed post above about not capping it, nevermind.

Survivor pool should = 1 winner. See previous e-mail about last years 50 person pool and splitting of prizes.

I totally agree. If it gets down to a few people and they decide to split the pot, so be it, but it should be their decision.

I'd love to jump in on this. And I definitely agree that a survivor pool should have a single winner.

Absolutely agree with this. Deals can be made among the remaining players if everyone agrees, but otherwise just one winner.

Unless of course multiple people make it all the way through the season. Then they'll split it as well, but I've never seen that happen.

48 oz. min. also sounds like a good number for this pool.

Agree on single winner. I play in a lot of large survivor pools (50+) and it almost always ends up with 3-4 people saying truce and splitting the winnings. Any less than that and it usually is a hard fought battle to the end. Either way, it should start out as winner take all and let the last few decide if need be

I was a cutthroat asshole a couple years ago in a survivor pool that pays out about $2500. It got down to 5 people and splitting it $500 each was tossed around. I didn't go with it and was promptly eliminated the next week. Can't remember exactly what is was, but I seem to recall the Steelers dropping an easy game at home to the Raiders or someone.

alright, was told to limit it to one sponsor for traders without large history,

Just to clarify, a single sponsor should be needed for those without extensive trading history (between 5-10 or more reliable trades). Sponsors should assist in direction/advisement, and backing of trader if box is lost or shipper backs out. Would be nice if local, so that they can assist with packing.

One reference/sponsor makes things easier. Best advice I can give is to know what you're getting into: this will likely cost between $40-$60 per person, based on bottles sent, packing supplies, and variable shipping costs based on distance. Know your schedule coming up, and if you're getting married, moving, or starting a new job this fall, maybe this isn't a good time for you.

I'm open to taking 2 sponsorees, but I will need full names, phone numbers, addresses, email, and phone number of significant other or close friend that I will verify prior to taking you on. Just covering the bases.
