Just tested my new 10 gal keggle setup with 23 nozzle NG burners...wow!...I was afraid the flame would be weak/yellow but it was clear (not even blue)...kinda dangerous as you can't see it...only hear it. It is outperforming my brew buddy's 20 nozzle propane burners which I clearly didn't expect. It produces so much heat, I've had to relocate/reconfigure my pumps (and I assume their thermal overloads).

Thanks to kjyost for hooking me up with a restaurant supply selling them for $25 each plus shipping.

Someday, when I hit it big I am definately going with natural gas.
Dedicated shed and all that. For now I get by with propane.

??? Given the difference in price between propane and natural gas, that's like buying a $50,000 Cadillac, then waiting until you 'hit it big' before replacing it with a $2,500 beater ...that looks and drives just like the Cadillac.

Haha, I know I know. Hey, I just started buying ingredients in bulk. One step at a time I guess.

Thanks for turning me on to that. I did a quick search and found them on Amazon.com for around $25 plus shipping. Just built a stand using Erector set parts from Lowes (I'm not a welder). This thing is freaking insane! Not sure what the BTU rating is on this burner (is that even legal?). I couldn't stand within two feet of it with the gas valve full open. I guess I'll need to build a skirt for this. As a test, it brought 2 1/2 gallons of water to a hard boil in just under 5 minutes - not too shabby!

I have the 32 jet burner, and a heating / cooling guy I know uses the same one for 20 gallon batches and he claims it is 400,000 BTUs.

Edit: Here is where I bought mine from, and it claims 160,000 BTUs. http://www.cpapc.com/32-Tip-Round-Nozzle-Jet-Burner-natural-gas-P470C244.aspx

I thought New Glarus had a new beer. I was hoping for a stout with some heat!

I've found mine is a lot more efficient with the burner valves only 1/2 way open. Any more than that and it heats everything, not just the bottom of the keggle.

Got excited because of the letters "NG". Leaving dissatisfied.

I think the new home page display format is resulting in a lot more non-homebrewers posting here.

Today that is like saying that macro beer drinks like craft beer.

Driven a CTS? The new ATS is getting rave reviews. Things change.

I meant that in the generic sense, not as a critique of Cadillac. (read this as: Caddy = good, beater = bad)
