It's still all over in Milwaukee. Not sure about Mad Town but would suspect it'd be there too. Let me know, we can maybe work something out for some Surly if you can't find any IP.

Lots at woodmans...surprised this didn't go quick like wild sour brown ale.

I think the batch was quite a bit larger.

Also, WSA was an instant classic. Oud Bruin is good, but not quite that good.

Yeah, this one won't be a trade anchor. I am looking forward to trying it over time.

I think its a bit "thin" these days, hoping it will improve with age.

When I was there on Tuesday, Steve's University had a couple cases by the cash registers.

Is anyone scared as this is the base for future sours?

Given who's behind it, no. Not at all.

I had it for the first time this afternoon and it's decent, but nowhere near WSA. I would imagine once Dan gets more experience in the cave things will only get better.

You ever compared other great beers to their bases?

To those hoping it gets better with time, word on the street is Dan pasteurized this so that likely won't happen. I don't have a source but wouldn't be surprised if it's accurate after the exploding berliner bottles.

My understanding is that it is pasteurized, but then a wild strain is added back in just before bottling. If that's the case, it should continue to develop if cellared.

Interesting, I did not hear that. Either way I have a few bottles in the cellar to give it a try again down the road. As it currently is, I am not a huge fan.

Just had it....echo what others said, decent but not as good as wild sour or cranbic. To put it in perspective though, NG decent is another breweries excellent. Dan has spoiled us.

I actually prefer this to Wild Sour. Wild Sour was more sour for sure, however it had a bit too much funk. And for whatever reason that Wisconsin funk is seems a little gross compared to Belgian funk.

This isn't quite as tasty as Madame Rose or La Folie, but it is still nice. As long as you aren't expecting in your face sour, or in your face cherry, then I think it is actually pretty good.
