NG Tart + Red

    Thought this may be the best place to post this.

    I am not looking to age or really for any improvement, but how long does these beers hold up?

    I am looking to keep this in my beer fridge(45-50) and pull for special occasions.

    If it's in a fridge you should be fine for quite a while. I've heard of people drinking them after a year or two and the beer was still quite good. Not too long ago someone posted a thread about having a Belgian Red from the late 90's that was still drinkable albeit not the same as a fresh Red.

    Landsman opened up that 1996 Belgian Red with a few folks and Dan Carey at New Glarus during the Sour Ale release. I was lucky enough to have gotten a sample, and I thought the bottle was incredible. Had taken on a noticeable flanders like lactic tartness with a hint of acetic character, but I doubt the modern bottles will age this way.

    I think its an incredibly stable beer for a few years (up to 3). It is not going to improve at all, but it doesn't change much for the negative in that time period either (at least that has been my experience with these beers).

    Yeah I have sat on bottles and while they don't change they don't go bad even with the low abv. I wouldn't worry

    I've had perhaps 6 of these bottles that were in the 2-4 year range, and as stated the modern batches simply don't change distinctly from fresh bottles (of which I've had many). There's not much active in the bottle, as I understand it, so I don't think they develop as traditional lambics can.
