Yo, I'm interested in tracking down a bottle of VSB, can someone impart some knowledge regarding bottle count? brewery only release/distro? dollar amount? beers traded that can land vsb $4$? Thank you and cheers!
1430 bottles, cost was $8 and the limit was 2 per person. It was released over 3 days during the Great Taste of the Midwest festival at the brewery in New Glarus, Wisconsin. I let mine go 1:1 for LiL… back when they both weren't so sought after, about ~2 weeks after the release. There have been some pretty serious ISO's recently though, and many have been consumed over the past few months.
i recall someone saying that VSB bumped up ranks as top beers on BA. that's why it probably got popular recently. i never looked it up. anyway, i traded 1:1 for last years R&D release
I landed 2 VSBs when they were first released. Each 1:1 for a HF BA Stout. I traded one shortly thereafter 1:1 for West Ashely. I was planning on drinking the 2nd one, but recently got an offer of for a CD5 (huge want of mine) 1:1, so I went for it. Yes that means I traded away 2 bottles of it without ever trying it.
vsb is trading like it is because people started opening it and realized how ridiculously good it is.
If I had known how ridiculously good it was, I would have driven back up there for the second day of the release to get two more. And I live 2 hours away.
