What's the difference between Iowa and New Hampshire as Presidential Primary season looms?

    Iowa:
"GROWLERS TO THE GOVERNOR: Convenience stores would be able to sell “growlers” — 72-ounce vessels that are filled with craft or microbrew beer that are sealed and taken by purchasers for off-premise consumption — under a bill approved by the Iowa House 93-4. SF 456 would allow convenience stores that hold a class C liquor permit to sell “growlers.” The bill, approved 40-9 by the Senate, goes to the governor. Floor manager Rep. Mike Sexton, R-Rockwell City, said the bill will help Iowa's growing craft beer industry. “This bill is more about helping small businesses flourish in the state of Iowa than it is about selling beer,” said Sexton, who thanked the “bipartisan research committee that really helped me with the heavy lifting on the research on this bill, one glass at a time.” "

Just saw this bill got officially killed yesterday.

Such an obscenity they can't get something so obvious passed, even with all those un-needed "protections" built in.. and opposition only due to ridiculous perceived business threats, which shouldn't impact legislation in any case!

A shame on nh brewers for this. And a shame on our legislators for allowing a bogus business threat to limit consumer freedoms.
