which brewery has the nicest/most desirable place to drink a beer irregardless of the quality of their beer?
My experience is newburgh brewing company in newburgh, NY. top floor of a giant old factory with giant arched ceilings giant, ,long wood tables and a view of the Hudson river during all seasons. great food. any others?

Paper City in Holyoke MA is pretty cool

Similar to how you describe Newburgh

Top (6th?) floor of a 19th century factory block (staircase only)

Went there in '09 and they used to put a few bands on on a Friday night

Homer pick or not, I love Bell's. Very unique atmosphere, lives up to the unique billing. Sticking close to home Founders and Brewery Vivant are also near the top of my list for the taproom environment.

Not counting German halls, I've always been really impressed by my local spot, Dry Dock. It's a little homer'ish, but I honestly think they probably have the best taproom in CO, and one of the best in the country.

To name a more obscure taproom, I have to say Tequesta Brewing Company in south FL.

The bar was (supposedly from what I heard) was brought down from the Northeast, that was used in an old bar that was owned by a family member of one of the brewery owners. It's all dark wood, and has tons of detail.

The tap lines come down from the ceiling concealed in what I'd guess is a 4" diameter all stainless steel pipe that splits off creating an upside down T. This results in all of the tap handles hanging there, rather than being attached to the bar-top.

The brewery (15bbl) is pretty much in the tap-room and you can see the whole setup from anywhere you sit, and it's not hiding behind glass windows, but a wall that is probably only 3-4ft high.

And probably the coolest thing is their growler filling machine. Instead of filling your growler through a hose attached to a tap, they place it in a concealed machine that looks like something off a star-trek episode. They tell it what beer you want and it fills the growler automatically.

And to top it off, the guys who own the place and brew the beer are great guys, and Tequesta/Jupiter area is an awesome, laid back place. Pics below are from their FaceBook page.

Tempting to agree, but Stone is so so so much more than a taproom that I almost wouldn't think to call it one.

I would have to disagree, respectively of course, on both cigar city and due south. both have the equivalents of my living room (although my living room doesn't have any beer on tap). absolutely they are fine places to have a great beer but would be underwhelming comapred to those mentioned above. that being said I will probably be at due south tomorrow. anyway here is a small pic of the Newburgh brewing company

I love Twisted Pine in the winter. Just a small handful of people (never seen more than 10, usually around 5), some board games, and cheap/awesome deli shop food.

    Stone Bistro for starters.

Depends on what you mean by "nice".

I love Horsebrass, for example, but it's not exactly upscale sort of place for pints.
