Pluto was my favorite of the last 2 years. I wish i had bought more of them!

Really enjoyed the Rubens Saturday (got an extra!) but the Kahlo tasted off to me.

Argh. Just realized all the night shift e-mails have been going to my trash folder and I missed the RSVP date for the Barrel Society parties.

Is there an event for 2016 members? This is my first year, haven't seen anything about a party yet.

@Lupin You might send them an e-mail and see how hard and fast the deadline was. They may tell you "sorry, too late" but I can't imagine they'd be upset that you asked. The staff there has always been super friendly in my experience.

And @Justin42, this is actually the year end party for the 2015 members. Unless I missed something there wasn't any kind of event to mark the beginning of a BS year.

It's a year-end party, but there are two dates due to membership size. 2016 membership party will be January 2017...assuming they keep doing them.

Thanks for the advice. My experiences with them have been overwhelmingly positive. My girlfriend and I were really looking forward to attending. I'll shoot them an e-mail after dinner.

Good luck! I hope you are able to make it in. The 2014 year-end party was a hoot. I'll be there on Jan 23rd. Hope to see you there!

They are at capacity unfortunately. Totally my fault, will hopefully see you at next year's!

On the brighter side of things, I've finally set up g-mail to send their e-mails to my main inbox instead of the "promotional" tab, the existence of which I was unaware until recently.

So, I had a plan in place to come up this weekend and pick up my barrel society stuff (every release this year) and those plans just got axed. I'm traveling for work the rest of the month, so is there anyone who can proxy for me? I'll send labels to cover shipping (or pick them up from you at a later date) and provide some thank you beers. Or, on the off chance any Philly people see this, I can make something work close to home.

Or has anyone had experience where Night Shift extends the pickup window?

@NightShiftBeer So, what happens if there's a big snow storm on saturday? Will the party still happen? I was planning on taking an uber to get there and if it's a major snow event (or even just the 4-8 they're forecasting at this point), I feel like getting to/from the party will be difficult (not as many ubers on the road and major surge pricing). I know, first world problems, but I really don't think driving to this in the snow is a good idea.

Just take the Orange line and walk. Not NS's fault that Uber surges prices.

I'm keeping an eye on the weather for Saturday too. Fingers crossed. It is possible to walk to Night Shift from the Wellington (or Malden Center) MBTA stops on the Orange line, although, given the MBTA's recent winter fiasco, this might be a worse option.

You're assuming I have access to the Orange line (or other train lines for that matter), which I do not.

Plus, honestly, its not so much that it will cost a lot if uber surges (that's part of the risk you take with uber), but more about road safety. I'm much more confident in my ability to drive in a snow storm/bad weather than a random uber driver...but considering how buzzed I was at last year's party, driving does not feel like a legit option. hopefully the weather is a non-factor and we all get to/from NS safely.

Hey all - we are watching the weather very closely here. As of right now, the party is still on. We had an NSBS party a few years ago that also coincided with a snow storm and nearly everyone came out and it was pretty awesome time. Right now with snow falls at under 8 inches we think people should be able to get here safely. If things turn worse than that, we will have to re-schedule, likely for the 30th. Our top priority is always safety so we don't want to put our most supportive and valued customers at risk. Please don't drive if you don't need to either, we will have 30+ beers on draft and many are higher abv.

We will keep everyone posted if things change.

Just a heads up to people that at the party on the 9th it appeared that nearly everyone decided to show up at right around 6:30 making for an extremely long line for 45 minutes or so. Who knows if it will be the same next time but you might try showing up before 6 or after 7:30 to avoid standing outside in a snow storm.

And thx for an awesome party Masterob8! It was great to be able to wander around the entire brewery and the food was amazingly good - much better than I would have expected for a buffet style layout. Beer was of course plentiful and excellent (Rubens ended up being my favorite of the year). And wow, it looked like you guys tripled the number of barrels back there from a year ago.

If anybody is going to end up bailing due to snow, I could *really* use an extra spot. I effed up and invited two different people as my +1 and now I'm a dick either way. Any ideas?

So, if you submitted/reserved for a +1, but it is not currently filled, hit me up!

People who were at the first barrel society party - how hard was it to get a drink? Any big surprises on tap? Favorite beer of the night?

Rubens was my favorite. In fact, it maybe one of my favorite NS beers. This was my first BS party so I'm not sure how it compares to others but I thought it was very well run with reasonable lines for beer and food. Not too crowded. The people I was with went the previous year and they indicated it was much less crowded this year.
