Batch 04/1/16 - Features a beastly heaping of Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Topaz hops - saturated, juicy notes of orange, pine, and honeydew melon. (6.2%)

even just a few days after canning, cracking a second can of the Year 4 DIPA both mrs. hopster and I noted it blended much better and the fruit "popped" a lot more. I bet in a weeks time it rounds out amazingly. Already very solid.

That looks so good. I saw some santilli among other night shift cans sitting on shelves. The santilli was dated early March. It seems so hard to find in Brookline/rozzi that I wanted to buy it. Was it the right idea to pass?

It being a month old doesn't bother me, it's more so the not being refrigerated

    Looks and sounds Awesome!

@masterob8 Any chance Year 4 DIPA will be brewed again? Lots of people got 'locked out' on getting some....

Usually a month in the can warm is fine (certainly not ideal). Most stores don't have it older than a week or two. So curious to know which store had a month old. Care to share?

Santilli has been undergoing subtle tweaks to the recipe and we are really happy with how its evolved. Its tasting great these days.

We are trying to see if we can make it again. Need to source some galaxy to make it possible. That's the only thing that would prevent us from brewing it again. So no immediate timeline but we are working on it!

I'll send you a private message..I don't mean to be a whistleblower! And just for the record I bought my first nightshift from these guys years ago..it was viva habanero and I've been hopelessly hooked ever since. They're a pretty solid package store overall.

@masterob8 Do you expect the 87 to become a regular beer to hit distro? Thanks,

It does get regular distro but in small quantities. Usually 50-100 cases per batch hit accounts. The taproom scoops up the rest of the cases.

Not sure this is the place for questions or not, anyone open a Sargent lately? Just opened one and it gushed everywhere. Not sure if it's a known issue as I just received my entire allotment from my trustee this week.

Sorry to hear that. We certainly don't aim for that type of experience. Feel free to email us at [email protected] to discuss any issues. How long was it chilled for? Most of our mixed ferment beers need to be chilled down for at least 24 hours before opening.

In compete transparency the beer, after it settled was fantastic and I had zero complaints about it. I received them Wednesday at 5pm and that bottle went straight to fridge as I got multiple of them. Opened today around the time I posted. Again I have zero complaints about the beer itself.

I got some 2/10/16 Santilli and it's drinking great. I mean, probably not as good as a week old or something, but it's holding up nicely imo

I agree, but I feel I can always taste a slight unpleasant flavor in older IPA's and I tasted it immediately in mine. Might depend on what I drink before it

Awesome time at the Barrel'd Sun release. Great atmosphere as always. Nice citrus+wine taste on the collab!
Got a few pours and my bottles of Krakatoa as well. Thought it was tasting really nice and had a very smooth finish. Looking forward to aging this one out for future winter storm(s).
Also had a surprise IP trade with a staffer. Funky Buddha Muy Bonita in exchange for an Allagash Coolship Red. Gotta love a brewery where the staff is actively trading beers with customers, definitely adds to the whole good beer is good community thing :grinning:
