Just picked up my new batch today from the brewery as it flew off the shelves at my local beer store. Am usually ambivalent about the IPAs they offer, but am a HUGE fan of Whirlpool. Have to say, this is really good, and definitely like the tall boy format. What do others think? Anyone know what batch date of Morph this is tailored from?

I believe it is the 3/10 batch recipe.

Big fan of the Morph series and loved Santilli as well. Great beer in a great format.

Ok, because some of those batches were good, others were just a mess. Found Santilli to have a nice balance of hop citrus and fruit with a light malt backbone. I gave up on buying Morph as most were just mediocre, but am now wishing picked up 2 4 packs of the Santilli! Oh well, not far from Everett and may get lucky this time at my local bottle shop.

5/5/15 Morph was solid. Picked up Santilli last weekend in the cape and wished I'd got more. Really good.

I'd be curious to hear how close Santilli is to the Morph it's based on. I assume there are some differences, as the Morph was 5.7% and Santilli is 6%

Batch 3/10/15 – Clean, crisp, tropical IPA with a bright, citrusy, bitter finish. Our Santilli flagship IPA will be based on this recipe. (5.7%)

Ahh, people who do research. Always had been lazy and didn't realize this had been said by the NS crew already. I would say it is close to that description but definitely amped up, maybe that's where the .3% went..into amping!

Tried it on Sunday, I thought it was decent but nothing I’d pick up again to be honest (although I’d like to try it on tap to see if it changes my opinion). I didn’t have any of the Morphs because the different-recipe-per-batch thing deters me (I know my luck, I’d end up with one of the inferior batches). I’m a big fan of Whirlpool so I’m going to pick that up over the summer as much as I can – arguably the best session IPA out there IMO, and that’s a style I’m critical of.

With you on the Whirlpool. Talked to the bar people today at Night Shift and they said wont be canning for another 2 weeks! Im getting the shakes already thinking about the long time that is.

Did anyone else have it at ACBF? I tried it during the Saturday early session and I honestly found it oniony and just not very good at all. I'm presuming this is not how it normally is, based on all the praise I hear and Night Shift's solid track record...

The batch of Morph that they based it on was one of my least favorite, but I am sure I am probably the exception and that their feedback was strongly positive for that recipe.

Fortunate to get some Santilli and Morph, both from 6/3. Santilli was good, not great. I liked it enough that I would pick it up again, just didn't 'move' me. The Morph I thought was fantastic! Had a great and complex taste to it.

I only heard of NS recently and fortunate my brother lives up near there. I love the idea of Morph and the way they are doing. I'm sure some are hits and others are misses, but that is what draws me. The beer tasting adventure! I just hope the ones that they get the best feedback on makes it back into rotation. I'd love to see a feedback form on their website under the Morph information where you can pick the batch and give feedback.

@masterob8 any idea how long cans will last at the brewery today? Heading down after work and was hoping to snag some.

Cans should last a few more days using my best guess. But they have been flying out. We also have Bitfest going on tonight that will bring a large crowd. Tons of awesome retro games to play so hopefully you can stay and geek out on some arcade games while you snag some cans!
