Hey everyone dont know much about the 4 berlinner weiss beers brewed by night shift. Looking for some information on them and what it would take to trade for all four bottles. The bottles that I speak of are: Ever Weiss- http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/28609/83899/ Mainer Weiss- http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/28609/88272/ Somer Weiss- http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/28609/81617/ Cape Codder Weiss- http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/28609/88877/ Whats the cost of each of these 4 bottles? Are they brewery only beers or limited distro? Thanks for any information that you can provide! Cheers, B
The cost I believe is $12 for s 750ml bottle. The Ever Weisse just hit distro (very limited) . Somer is coming out soon will probably be brewery only for now. Mainer and Cape Codder will be released later this year. They did a Sour Futures program so you could prepay and reserve these beers so plenty of people will have multiples of them when they come out.
A little more info: Mainer and Cape Codder Weisse have been brewed once so far. Cape Codder was January, Mainer was last fall. These were very small, brewery only batches (limit 1 or 2-ish - they were pretty loose about the limits originally). You will have a very difficult time finding these until they come out again (on the same schedule, AFAIK). Somer Weisse used to be a shelf beer that went to distro for them - now it is treated like the other Weisses and is planned to be brewery only. It hasn't been bottled for quite a few months now, but it will be re-released in a couple of weeks, so it should be easy to find then. Ever Weisse was brewed once last year, like Mainer and Cape Codder, and was a small brewery only batch. They've brewed a LOT of it this year, and it should be easy to trade for, especially since some is on store shelves now. All of these were available limit 6 for preorder as part of the sour futures program, and will be available limit 2, $12 in the brewery after they're brewed again even if you haven't preordered. If they brew all of these as much as they brewed Ever (which was the first batch for Sour Futures), there will be a TON of them, and no worries that they will sell out with any speed. Cheers!
Nobody should bend you over a barrel for them. They make a decent amount, though the brewery is a bit of a pain to get to depending on where you live, and they'll only sell you 2 bottles at a time. Basically anything reasonably interesting from the midwest should get it done.
Do you think that some of the new releases from New Glarus coming out this month(a thumbprint series sour and strawberry rhurbarb fruit beer) will get a few bottles at $4$ rate or slightly higher?
Shouldn't be hard to trade for. For some perspective, they consider themselves a nano brewery so anything they produce is not very much at all. Batch 1 Ever wiesse, cape codder, and mainer weisse sold out VERY quickly (1-2 weeks at the brewery- Valentino was one barrel/keg only and sold out in a day) but batch 2 Ever weisse has been on sale for a couple months now so maybe you won't have to be on your toes to get them.
I just traded for a bottle of Ever Weiss for a 4 pack of New Glarus's Berliner Weiss with some extras, and we were both happy to do it!
to be really, really anal, and have a huge stick up my ass, they're on batch 6 of Ever Weisse. batch 2 went in about 10 days, IIRC. but yes, this is RELEASE #2, as batches 2-6 have been available uninterrupted. IIRC, Cape Codder Weisse & Mainer Weisse went in days, not 1-2 weeks. I think Cape Codder lasted 3 days.
Mainer sold out in 8 days. That's more than a week. Only reason I remember that is because I said to my friends wtf it was released 8 days ago.
Which is Batch 6, just released to stores rather than brewery only, as far as I can tell. yeah, that does sound about right!
I just went to Night Shift on Saturday. Ever Weisse is out again now and is limited to 4 bottles per person. They are selling for $15 each if I remember correctly.
Hey All - Just a few clarifications on some info on our Berliner Weisses. As mostly noted above we originally (last year) produced a constant supply of Somer Weisse and intermingled some speciality batches. So Ever, Mainer and Cape Codder batch 1 consisted of only ~300 bottles. This year with the help of new fermenters we are able to produce way more of our Berliners (more than half our fermenter capacity is filled with Berliners) and decided to focus on one type at a time. This year we produced batches 2-7 of Ever Weisse. Somer will hit our taproom shelves on July 17th and last for 3 months or so (batches 11-18 or 19). It might make it into distribution like it has previously but we are not sure yet. Mainer will come out in October and Cape Codder in January. For both of those beers we wait till we can buy fresh fruit. We are also hoping to keep intermingling specialty batches of Berliners throughout the year. The first specialty batch will be a berliner with Raspberries released in August or September. We also have more barrel aged versions of berliners in the work. And Valentino is also on the to brew again list as we really loved that beer. Lastly, all our berliners are $12 for a 750ml cork and cage bottle. We adjust the limit per person based on our current stock. Ever is currently at 4 bottles per person and Somer will probably start at 2 bottles per person when it initially comes out. Cheers, Rob
Very Cool!!! Night Shift sounds like an awesome brewery! Cant wait to sample a few of your Belinner's!
