Night Shift Whirlpool & Morph cans

NS just posed that the first round of The 87 tallboys are coming out on Wednesday. Taproom only.

 

Big week of canning for us! Canning Awake, Santilli and for the first time The 87 DIPA. The DIPA will be a new regular canned offering. Due to the Crown catastrophe the first 2 batches will be shrink-sleeves but after that our printed 87 cans should be here. Lots of canned goodness in the pipeline.

Cans of 87 DIPA filled today and ready at open. Totally biased but a pretty tasty batch. Dangerously drinkable despite the 8% ABV. Hope you all crush some cans/bottles of whatever local brews this holiday week! Thanks all for your continued support and making this year great. More awesomeness planned for 2016!

How much are the canned beers at the brewery?

 

I'm pretty sure all the canned offerings are $14 a four pack.

Correct the 87 is $16. Our other cans (Whirlpool, Santilli, & Awake) are $14.

 

Fort Point had the cans at 13 per 4 , which is the lowest I've seen them. I'd buy them w/ regularity at that price point

 

Is there a plan for the frequency of The 87 cannings? Once a month? Or more frequent maybe?

Also, I was in today and I picked up a growler of The 87 as cans were gone, and when I got home I noticed there is a solid three inches of unfilled space at the top of the growler. Is this normal for Night Shift growlers? It's the first time I've had a NS growler fill (it's one of the 32oz ones if that matters). I am used to growlers from other breweries being fully topped off with little to no air space at the top.

 

The 87 will be canned every ~3 weeks. Just got printed cans in so the next run will look extra sharp. Canning dates for the 87 are currently, Jan 12th, Feb 1, Feb 22, March 15th. Majority of the cans will only be sold in the taproom. Small amount for distro.

I'm hearing Morph will be in 16 ounce cans, nice! @masterob8 , will this be the same recipe as the 12/29 release? That batch was fantastic!

 

Yes, Morph grows up into 16oz cans this week. Packaging on Thursday! Similar base beer as 12/29 but this week's batch has Galaxy and Ella hops in the lead. Should be killer!

Also, got a One Hop This Time: El Dorado hitting taps Friday that is tasting outrageously good from the tanks. Last OHTT only lasted a week so don't miss it. Draft and growlers only but can of the OHTT series are in our future.

 

Lol I loved the last batch but it's called Morph. The whole point is that each release it...you know...morphs.

 

We do sometimes come close to making the same beer. Tweak some things, adjust the hop profile and try it again. We did that for Santilli as we dialed in the "final" recipe.
