Some breweries need to learn when to dump a batch instead of throwing hype words on it. Sour Tea was horrible. Once it warmed a little it was like fucking cough syrup.

I actually liked the Sour Tea (maybe even more than the Bee Tea) but to each their own. Didn't have any of the Morph.

Same feelings here. It might be the strangest IPA I've ever had. It's almost more like a weak sour beer and not at all like an IPA. The nose, taste and color were all not great IMO. If people think this is a citrus bomb then they need to drink more IPA's.

I had two four-packs of each version of Morph, and they were both great. Very hoppy, and not sour at all. Sour Tea was just okay for me, though Bee Tea isn't my thing either. I preferred Sour Tea on tap over the bottle and thought it tasted better cold, rather than as it warmed by the end of the bottle.

Not sure if anyone's still interested in the latest batch before the 10/1 release, but there's still a four pack at Vinnin as of 1:30pm. $3/can and I think $10.50/4.

Morph B1 is drinking amazingly now, I like it better now than on canning day. The Whirlpool that was released on the same day as B1 has pretty much fallen off. I'm hanging on to my last few cans of Morph B2 to see if they undergo the same benefit of time in the can.

So I tried it again (9/09 batch). This can was more in line with what I'd expect from an IPA. Citrus notes are present, although far from being a "citrus bomb" (and I'm not really complaining). Interestingly, it smells and tastes much better, and more IPA-ish, from a can than when poured into a glass. I liked it, it's a pleasant IPA and I'd drink it again. But I wouldn't chase it, there is no justification for that, imo.
Still surprised by how differently two cans from the same 4-pack tasted...

Hey All - Fresh batch of Morph just got canned today (10/1/14). Totally different beer from the last two batches. Amongst our crew we think this one is the best of the three so far. Super tropical with a nice piney note and a killer nose. Oh and it's not murky looking. Cans for sale in the taproom today. Sending out cans to stores starting tomorrow.

The new batch (canned 10/1) is IMO there best batch yet. So fruity and piney on the nose and a great tropical fruit taste to it with a resin finish. Bravo guys!

Visited the brewery last night for the first Santilli Showdown kickoff. I highly recommend heading over and trying each of the three IPAs before they kick. All three were great and the winner gets rolled over into the Morph series.

Damn weddings and anniversaries this week. Didn't get a chance to head down to the showdown last night. How were the 3 varieties?

All were pretty damn good and different from one another.

Young Guns reminded me of Whirlpool in all aspects except it had a little more body. Brothers Kennison was more traditional and reminded me of Morph Batch 3 but with more stone fruit and maltiness. Knee Highs had some of the lime flavors I picked up in Batch 2 but also had some interesting, underlying earthy/spicy/minty flavors. Picked up a growler of Knee Highs simply because I found it the most unusual.

Hope you have fun at all the celebrations this weekend. At least you'll have the chance to try one when they can the winner.

The latest batch of Morph(10/21/14) is rolling down the canning line right now. This batch has a light malt bill and features tons of grapefruit, pine, and soft, tropical notes up front, with a bold, clean bitterness and resiny finish; hopped with an entourage of Chinook, Amarillo, Centennial, Cascasde, AU Summer, AU Ella, & Columbus. Hope you all enjoy!

Morph #4 is delicious. I never had 1 or 2 fresh, but it's better than 3.

Never had any of the previous batches but this one is great. If this was regularly available and easy to get I would buy it all the time. I like that it has the taste of a higher ABV IPA but I could easily drink the entire 4 pack without falling over.

@masterob8 Anywhere I can get a hold of these tomorrow in western Ma? How far does the distro go? I will be up in Amherst at my lady's spot for the weekend, wouldn't mind trekking a little for the cause.

Our beer doesn't make it out that far west just yet. The furthest west this batch has gone so far is Needham. But Julios will be getting them next week. Still not close too Amherst. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
