My can of Hellwind IPA, says it's Brewed in Tulsa. The database shows these guys in Allen, TX. What gives?
Sounds like they contract brew at least some of their beer then if it says it's brewed in Tulsa. I've no clue who it would be though. I don't know the breweries up there.
I would guess Marshall just due to the fact that they are the biggest out of the Tulsa breweries, but you are correct in that the "natural guess" would be Dead Armadillo.
I went to Total Wine last Friday. I could only find "Brewed in Allen, TX" on the cans here. So I guess they contract brew for out of market beers.
They actually opened a brewery in Tulsa. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&sou...aw0SXafxjctwBvFOOtsXCcPu&ust=1567003119265921
Wow. I don't know they had built a second location. I rarely see much from them other than their kölsch at a local pizza restaurant.
I think I mentioned I rarely see them anywhere. I bought a single can of their Trenches Ale at Total Wine a week ago and I won't buy that again. I've had their Cactus Cat Kölsch a few times at one of our pizza restaurants and I didn't think that it was bad. I want to try their Hoop Snake Hefeweizen but I have very low expectations of virtually all American made hefeweizens.
Sorry, Russ! I'm late seeing this thread but yes Nine Band spent a mint putting in a state of the art brewery at the Osage Casino here. The brewer's actually a homebrewing friend of mine. The house beers are mediocre but they've given him a bit more freedom with their seasonal offerings. I just had his Demon's Gold (Belgian Golden Strong Ale) at the McNellie's Harvest Beer Festival & it's definitely the best beer I've had from them. The Toad Choker Barleywine's pretty decent as well. Cheers!
