Yeah, the low score surprised me as well when I went to go review it. It's nothing incredible but that score certainly doesn't do it justice.

Looks more like ice cream than beer
This is a pint (at least it was after it was topped up) of hand pulled cask mild of 3.4% ABV.[IMG]

marquis, you need to stop taking pictures of your beer because it's absolute torture for some of us to look at but not touch.

While I generally agree that West Coast style IPA's don't necessarily lend themselves to nitro, I did have Nitro Sculpin IPA at a tap takeover event during San Francisco Beer Week in February. Loved the mouthfeel. Yes the aroma was a little muted, but overall a very enjoyable beer.

Beer on nitro not only looks sexy its also tasty. it was delicious the first 5-7 sips, however, I felt the the nitro made my beer go flat faster. :slight_frown:

Jack's Abby Smoke & Dagger is great nitro on tap.

I did, and I will agree that the nitro definitely had less of a nose and evened out the flavors, but I still fell in love with it. Maybe I'll change my mind on the next can. Still, loved the nitro.

had old chub out of the regular can and thought it was terrible. I couldn't finish one beer. then I was convinced to try it on tap at 75% nitro/ 25% CO2. totally different beer. so much better. then I tried the old chub 16oz. nitro can. meh, not terrible but no where near the silky smoothness of the draught version.

I would have to disagree. I thought this was very flat and light, with little to no flavor. Seems to be the case with most nitros i've had, but this one took the cake in disappointing me :slight_frown: I like the idea of a nitro though, to add some positivity.

Thanks for the reminder about Murphy's. I just went out and picked some up as I haven't had it in quite a while. the low ABV and the wonderful mouthfeel made it a perfect accompaniment to my lunch. I know this one probably isn't a favorite among the Stout lovers but it remains one of my favorite Stouts. But it had drifted off my radar due to all those lovely IPAs calling for my attention.
