I haven't seen any IPA nitro offerings, but I've heard/read mixed reactions. From what I can infer from other nitro experiences, an IPA seems like it would produce a strange overall encounter. Crisp is the word that comes to mind when I think IPA. Creamy comes to mind for nitro. The whole combination seems intriguing though -- I would try for sure, not that it's saying much.

    I'd try anything once.

Oh boy, and the guys over in the "cask vs. keg" thread thought cask muted hop flavor in IPAs...

I don't get IPAs on nitro, either. I have tried several and the only results I have observed have been muted flavor and smoother body, neither of which are really anything I personally look for in an IPA.

In fact, after having several strong stouts on nitro as well, I pretty much prefer the standard CO2 versions of every kind of beer I have tried.

I was very intrigued the first time I saw one as well, and so I asked for a pint.

    I'll never do it again.

That's not to say you shouldn't. You definitely should so that you can form your own opinion. I'd just be interested to hear your feedback when you do.

Nitro is a waste of beer imo.

I'm glad to read that I am not alone. Makes me wonder what Guinness tastes like without its nitro influences

I think more classic IPAs with a solid malt backbone are pretty good on Nitro.

Hinterland Pale Ale is all over my area on nitro, and it's way better in that format than from bottled.

I have had a few and I don't really care for them.

Tried Epic Hopulent IPA on nitro recently and I thought it was good. Nitro gave it some creaminess that I thought made it stand out.

I had Red Chair on nitro too. It was just confusing. The creamy head and mouthfeel were telling my mind "Irish stout" but the taste said "American Pale Ale". It must not have been a huge seller because it seemed a little oxidized. Grossed me out. No thanks.

This. For IPAs on nitro that I haven't had the standard version of, I've enjoyed them well enough. But for those that I have had the standard version for comparison, it's no contest -- standard wins. I don't drink a beer just to get drunk off a high ABV. I'm drinking it because of the flavor, aroma, texture (and various other elements). If having it on nitro removes those best aspects of it AND the alcohol content as more of an effect, why am I thrilled about that? Everyone's got their own tastes, obviously, but that's my take on the nitro debate.
