Last night I cracked open a bottle of Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro, one of my favorite stouts. Pouring hard (i.e. Just straight down into a glass) is part of what I love about it. You expect it to over flow but somehow it just cascades settles nicely.

Last night was different, it didn't cascade and ended up overflowing and I wasted had the beer.

Has anyone else had this kind of experience with a nitro beer? Any idea what caused this?

What was the bottle dating on it? Left Hand had a recall on recent packaging dates. Sounds like your beer was part of them.

"We have discovered that the foreign yeast strain is creating a secondary fermentation inside of the bottles and is causing an increase in CO2. The resulting effect is changing the gas qualities of the beer and causing the beer to overflow and disrupt the customary nitro cascade."

I think you might be correct. I wasn't aware of the recall, thank you.
