I recently had a Ballast Point Red Velvet Nitro and once again I picked up a specific "flavor", best compared to aspirin-like. years ago I stopped drinking Caffrey's ale and then Guinness because of it, and have since consistently picked it up in other nitro beers, such as Left Hand. I understand N2O itself has a slightly sweet taste, but N2 is otherwise inert. Or is it a textural change presenting as a flavor.

    Anyone else experience something similar?

The gas has no taste, it's the density of the gas itself that affects the body and test of the beer.

Smoother creamier nitro...more mouthful and weight on the mouth, you are just tasting nasty rancid american hops in abundance.

I pick up a unique characteristic feel in nitro beers and I generally feel like the flavors are more muted in nitro beer, but I haven't noticed a unique flavor specific to nitro beers.

I stay away from nitro -- both tap and bottle.

Probably unlike as 80% of the air you breath every day is nitrogen. If you taste aspirin with every breath, then maybe but otherwise I doubt nitro imparts any flavor
