Thanks. This is our only can of BA Ten Fidy and I don't expect we'll get another crack at one any time soon so we're going to enjoy this one!

Pretty sure I paid $8.99 at Canal's in Woodbridge, but I loaded up on a bunch of things and don't remember for sure. BuyRite was $12.99 IIRC. BA Ten Fidy, I think I paid $12.99 at Canals and $13.99 at BuyRite Chatham.

In other news, Lagunitas High Westified is out. Single bottle only at BuyRite Chatham behind the counter, $3.99 for a 12 oz bottle. I stopped in at Gary's in Madison on the way back, and scored a sixer of Westified, which they kept hidden in the back. Didn't even ask about Ten Fidy, got 3 cans, and spent way too much the past week, almost exclusively on stouts. Westified was only $12.99 at Gary's!

Went I asked for a bottle at Spirits, they asked if I wanted a 2015 or 2016. I said "huh?!" He told me they received some 2015 from the distributor at the same time as the 2016. So my guess is it's the distributors that might be trying to push it?

That's what I thought, but at the store the beer guy insisted several times that this was all they received. Then apparently according to him they received a mix case with 2016 and 2015 in it. I can only assume they were trying to dump known shitty product on an unsuspecting customer.

Were the date codes on the 2015's from recalled batches? It popped up in a couple of shops here in NY also. The one I picked up was not from a recalled batch.

It's a good word of warning to check the year and make sure you are getting what you think you are getting, since the bottles are identical. You could easily over look it, especially around the release when you would expect it all to be 2016.

The bottles are not identical. The bottleneck label either says 2016 or 2015 on the front. And if you look at the back label on which the bottled on date is printed, the background is gold in 2016 and was white in 2015.

For the front that was my point, there is no difference other than the year. As for the back, I didn't notice that difference and I'd guess most others wouldn't know or notice it as well.

Just check before plucking one off the shelf, especially when they are showing up on the same day of the new release.

For sure. I know places releasing prior year's on the same day has happened before, but obviously that should be a red flag this time around.

6 per person of Regular and 1 Barley-wine at Garys in Wayne last Friday. They had about 30-35 cases of Regular and Barley-wine right out on the floor. They also had cases of Coffee but they did a list for that.

I hear ya. Haven't opened mine yet, but soon.

On the BCBS topic, how is everyone doing picking this up in South Jersey? Still haven't gotten a bottle - passed on the 24.99 bottle - too much for it.

I feel like either the distribution in this area is weak or people are being very tight lipped about it. I remember in years past, people were sharing information a little more over social media and being more honest about it in stores when you called or asked for it. Has it gotten so bad in NJ with allocation that no one wants to pass the word along?

That's my perception. That doesn't mean it's the reality, but I'm interested in what other people think.

I shared as I found it.. but just didnt find it much! Dunno if you consider Northern Ocean County/Southern Monmouth County as South Jersey though (lets not start a if there is a Central Jersey argument please )

Both Spirits Unlimited in Point (the one on Bridge Ave and on 35) are doing the same thing. As I understand it the one in Bridge only got a case so those will likely go pretty quick. Not sure how much the other store got but it was probably significantly more. The one on Bridge was closed a lot of the year which likely lowered their allocation.
