Since there isn't one that's NJ specific, I figured I'd start one.

Rumor I heard from a (not so reliable but has been right a few times) source is that it ALL drops on Black Friday this year.

    Thoughts?

I have called a ton of stores. no one in Jersey seems to know when they are getting it or how much or for that matter if they are even getting it. Although I know of one store that told me that when they get it the vast majority of it goes to employees. And they put out a limited number. I think I am going to try NYC instead

I'll post here when I see it in stores in Ocean county. (tuckerton/barnegat/berkeley/bayville/toms river/jackson/plumbstead/bricktown, and everything in between)
I visit ~15 stores per day so I should be able to help some of you guys find it in that area. PM me if you're in those areas and i'll get back to you guys individually as soon as I see in the area.

I absolutely love BCBS and the variants, but it's not even remotely worth it to try and track this stuff down. Unless you get very lucky, you'll be looking at 1 bottle limits everywhere. Like @dymmig89 says, I usually just take a drive to the city as there's usually an abundance of the stuff.

Any idea which shops in the city get it and how long it usually sticks around for? Hoping I can find some in NJ to try it for the first time but I'm not optimistic.

I did not hit any 1 bottle limits last year in South Jersey, some 4 pack limits but thats it.

finding Bourbon County in NJ, year after year, is insanely difficult. GI either neglects the state distribution-wise, or most store owners have a lot of friends who reserve extra allotments so others don't have the chance.

hopefully I'll come across it this year. I'll most likely have to trek into NYC, where it's available pretty regularly, to find it. the difference between finding Bourbon County in NYC and NJ is night and day.

for the amount of Honkers Ale and mediocre GI offerings I see on the shelves, you'd expect there to be more Bourbon County around here.

My main NJ experience has been seeing it for the first time months after release at 8/bottle of regular and then about 3 months ago a different store put out BW at 10/bottle with one exception of being offered a BW at checkout at normal 4 pack price when I couldnt find any Sucuba and the distributor was dropping extra cases to accounts. Im just going to take the train into the city and look around. I was seeing cases of regular until the end of the summer and some 4 packs of BW around the same time so those two should be an easy find.
Anywhere I come across some if I do in the Hudson County area or during any stops down south to Carton Ill post here.

Their city has the same population as our entire state. They drink much more beer than we do, that's why they get more Bourbon County than us. Also Goose Island has been in NY for years longer than NJ.

that doesn't make my point wrong. the fact that last year's bottles continue to collect dust in NYC while it's nearly impossible to get even one bottle on release day in a densely populated state like NJ suggests GI should consider re-prioritizing certain areas or at least shifting some shipments.

I see people pick up cases of this in the middle of nowhere PA, where it also collects dust, so it's difficult to grasp their method if the goal is to sell product in a timely manner. I know WHY GI neglects NJ. I just don't agree with it.

2012 I walked into Garys in Wayne and they had cases of this stacked on the floor with no limit. I haven't heard of it at the time and I got 4pack. Now everywhere keeps it in the back

A place in NYC said they got 10 cases of coffee last year and it took months to move, same place picked up 2 4pks of BCBS in Sept. Granted NYC is 3+ hour drive from my home one way, its a on the way to the airport spot off. While again, as said above, we can't even get 1 case per store, and they have a limitless supply.

If they neglect you it is because you guys don't drink enough Sophie, Matilda, honkers or any of the other Goose Island offerings.

I remember that, they got 50 cases, then last year, it was a 1 bottle limit, times have changed.

Goose Island started shipping the stuff to Cali is mostly the biggest thing. That cut the availability of it by like 10.

Did High Grade ever ship out any of the variants last year? I feel like we only saw regular and BW.
