Got this email from Wineworks in Marlton today. They were having an event today at 1PM and apparently were forced to sell it early due to the crowd.

    "Hey everyone,

I'd like to start off by apologizing to anyone who missed out. Due to the volume of customers in our store who showed up early I was forced to do the release a little before noon which was earlier than I wanted. In doing so I know I upset a lot of you, and I am sorry. I will take this as a learning experience and will better our performance so that it will be more fair to those of you who show up on time.

    Joe
    Beer Manager
    WineWorks"

BC is becoming quite the shit show

so i'd guess they had 50-100 people standing around the register inside the store, making it impossible for anyone to make a legitimate purchase. don't really know what they expected. there's a reason these events are typically held at the time the store opens.

It's crazy that it sounds like more people showed up for this then showed up at the larger stores in the area on black friday.

I wonder what variants they got. I tried to call but the guy I spoke to had no clue

My guess is that this the effect of people learning about the first wave of hype and wanting to experience it themselves, even if they had no prior knowledge of the first wave until it was complete.

Apparently no vanilla or coffee was to be found there today.

This is not confirmed and not true. They DID NOT get vanilla. The manager told me that when we got there at the same time as the truck. Apparently there was an employee spreading the Vanilla rumor later. But it is untrue.

Considering seemingly no other stores (larger stores at that) in the area got any vanilla, I prett much figured this was the case.

they're listed as having the beer in stock on ratebeer. it's posted there year-round which is completely inaccurate. that's probably why a lot of people called them and showed up.

Does anyone know why all the BCBW that was recently available here in NJ was bottled in 2013? Where has this been for over a year? I am not complaining as i prefer it with a little age on it but am curious as to whether this was sitting at GI for the past year or with the Distributors. Either way it is very odd to me that it was released on black Friday and sold with other BCBS beers bottled in 2014.

It was actually, a mix of 2014 and 2013 that was sold on Black Friday on... some stores had both

For all of the NNJ types that shop at Cable Beverages- I just got back from there and it's not going to be a plentiful as in recent years. They already sold like 40 cases, and only have 15-20 cases left. It probably won't last long.

BCBW is still there at one bottle a customer, but that probably won't last the night.

Happy hunting, and I hope you get some. Cheers!

Thanks for the heads up. That was the place I was hoping on rolling into one of these days and casually picking some up. Guess not. The demand is out of control this year. Wonder what caused it. I understand it for the variants but not regular.

Dang! I was just at Total Wine on Monday and didn't even think to check WF. Cable was more expensive than that. I don't know the exact numbers because I was kind of chit chatting and didn't pay attention , but if I back out what else I bought from the total bill it was around $32 for the Regular 4-pack plus the bottle of BW (maybe 25 + 7.50?).

Yeah- me too; I definitely thought it would last through December. I just don't think they could get as much as they wanted. Plus there were a lot of case sales on Black Friday, they said.

My wife got one of the last 4 packs for me at lunch today. I was very happy to say the least.
