    looking for some recommendations...

planning on heading to treehouse(charlton) on the way, then stoping at armsby abby and jacks on the way into boston...

Would take any recommendations? Any must hit spots in boston? Prefer to be able to hit a few places so neighborhoods of interest also would be great.

    cheers

Not in Boston proper, but if you do hit Trillium's Canton location, Vitamin Sea is about 25 minutes away in Weymouth. I'd recommend both places (Trillium's new spot is really nice). On the way home, if you go through RI/CT I highly recommend Fox Farm in Salem, CT as well as Long Live in Providence, RI. Fox Farm has quickly become a must stop for me and my wife on our way to visit family in MA/RI.

Kendall square for Cambridge Brewing and lamplighter brewing. Bunch of good restaurants around there too plus the Lord Hobo bar. Fort Point for Trillium and Row 34 and fort point market.

Aeronaut isn’t too far from there in Somerville, MA. It’s essentially the next town over. Definitely hit up lamplighter. If you like coffee the have a pretty good coffee bar in there as well. Get some Major Tom if it’s pouring. Highly, highly recommend the beer and food at Cambridge Brewing!

Also go to the Fort Point Market which is a 5 minute walk from Trillium Fort point. The market has a crazy good can and bottle selection to go. Legit shit everywhere

If you're going through Tree House Charlton on your way up to Boston, I'd go down 95 and try to hit up Fox Farm on your way back to NJ.

For beer there is also Meadhall, Area Four, Atwood’s Tavern and Artifact Cider. For restaurants some good ones are Oleana, Little Donkey, Pagu, Mary Chungs. A4cade if you like video games.

    awesome thanks all.
we are looking to do Lamplighter, Cambridge Brewing, then over to Aeronaut, winterhill and idlehands... are all of these semi close to eachother and worth thetrip?

Fort point is looking like row 34, trillium, fort point market and possibly harpoon..

anything over by fanneli hall, the sam adams brewpub might be a stop also

Faneuil Hall, pronounced "Fan-yull" - Night Shift Lovejoy Wharf is pretty close to there (10 min walk)

I love your brewery hop plan for the other side of the river (Lamplighter thru Idle Hands) - You may need a few ubers here and there but it's very walkable. It's nice to see the part of the urban area that people actually live and play in, vs the touristy downtown parts.

we may do the sam adams tour, any recommendations in that area?

If you find yourself in the Framingham area, Jack's Abby/Springdale and Exhibit "A" are pretty close to the exit and always a good time

it's on your list already, but don't skip armsby abbey. the food is arguably better than the beer... although I haven't been since they re-opened after a short covid closure.

love trillium & vitamin sea, but you might spend alot of time in the car & traffic with Canton & Weymouth. The Boston & Cambridge walking plan you've got is a good call.

idle hands has a nice spot and a wide variety of styles - including plenty of NEIPA's - they are awesome.

if you've done touristy boston before, but not in a few years, don't skip lovejoy wharf. maybe it's the scarcity thing, but I've found the 'lovejoy only' beers to be pretty damn good, and the pizza kills. it's a cool perspective & vistas on the city that didn't exist before...although the North Washington St bridge construction might help or hurt the vista, depending on your interest.

I wouldn't make the extra stop for night shift everett if you're doing boston & lovejoy.

Highly recommend that you stop at OEC brewing in CT either coming or going. Just a great mix of their own beers as well as beers imported by their sister company, B. United International. OEC's sours are well worth a stop.

Also a retail store with a wide selection of their own beers as well as those from BUnited.

In Oxford CT just a few miles off I84 in the Waterbury area

If you go about 3/4 mile west of the JP Sam Adams you will get to Centre Street Jamaica Plain which is a little bohemian in character. Some quite good restaurants there including Canary Square and Tres Gatos. Get JP Licks ice cream. And for your classic Irish watering hole, the Brendan Behan.

Brendan Behan Pub is a favorite of mine. Another brewery near Sam Adams is Turtle Swamp. They do a good job with British styles like porter and barley wine.
