    Good afternoon,

Two days ago I brewed up a Belgian ale and since then I have seen no activity in my fermenter. I am worried that my yeast was bad. I did use a yeast starter, I added oxygen to my wort so I believe that it should have started to go crazy right away. Any suggestions?

What temperature is it at and what type of yeast?

How did your yeast starter 'go'? Did you see yeast sediment on the bottom of your yeast starter?

    Cheers!

What "activity" were you looking for that you haven't seen?

Yes yeast at the bottom as desired. I did start the starter about 2 days earlier, is that an issue? I was looking for the normal activity, Krausen, bubbling in airlock.

Its was White Labs yeast, belgian ale. Should be around 65-70 f.

Any possibility of a leak in your fermenter somewhere that's allowing the "usual" signs of fermentation to run off unnoticed? Also, have you taken an SG reading to see if there's movement from OG?

And by "should be" 65-70, does that mean it's in a closet? Water bath? Fridge with a temp probe attached?

Did your starter show signs of fermentation?

Well, that is an indicator that your yeast starter 'worked' and the yeast cell count has increased. In all probability this means that your yeast is not 'bad'.
That shouldn't be a problem. I personally grow my yeast starter the day before and pitch the starter contents after 18-24 hours of growth.
Are you referring to your yeast starter here or your primary?

    Cheers!

Any tiny amount of bubbles on the top of the wort/beer at all? Any evidence of a dried krausen ring on the walls around the liquid edge of the fermentor? I have a feeling that you need to wait another day before having any concern.

Good chance is they're just being sneaky. I'd check your seals, and the gravity.
