These guys recently opened, anybody checked 'em out yet? http://noboatbrewing.com/#beer-with-best-intention
So, in a crossing of the streams, turns out a writer for a Mariners blog I frequent is the guy behind this brewery: http://www.lookoutlanding.com/2016/12/30/14110412/one-thing-more
The space should be good in summer, but boy is it cold in winter even under the heat lamps. A corner of a large industrial building walled off like a studio apt. Nice bar, much of the brewing equipment exposed, projector showing the game on the wall, several tables for groups and a long high table, food truck outside. My take was that the beers fall into the 10 year ago trends too much. For the IPAs hops focused on bittering, not aroma. The illuminaughty was particularly not good imo. The amber was probably my favorite but a pretty plain take on a plain style. Nothing wowed me and a few I would definitely not order again. I'd stop in if in the area, but wouldn't make a trip just to go there. They're still a young brewery, so it will be interesting to see how they evolve.
Mostly old school, yes, but my notes on a couple were "overly astringent" and "all of those 55 IBUs must've gone into the boil"
I get what you're saying. I'm all for old school IPA but it has to be drinkable. I feel like a lot of new little breweries don't have that style dialed in.
