    Hey everyone,
Having an issue (at least i think) with my 5 gallon batch of Brewers Best American light lager. Im not getting any activity or so it appears in the carboy. I rehydrated the provided yeast packet in 68 degree water which i had boiled previously and let cool and pitched. Had an OG of 1.042 at the beginning of fermentation. That was sunday evening. its now wednesday and there still does not appear to be any activity in the carboy or in the airlock. it was directly on a cool tile floor in a closet the first night. I elevated it the next morning and also wrapped in a blanket to conserve so warmth. Last night i placed a space heater in the room in order to keep it at a consistent 70 degrees. Today still no activity..... HELP!!

I use liquid yeast and usually make a starter. Did the yeast get foamy when you rehydrated it? Are you getting any bubbles through the airlock? Did you oxygenate the wort before pitching the yeast? Also, I think you may have started this thread in the wrong section...

as an aside, i used Yeast Bay's Funktown. ZERO airlock activity, minimal krausen.

If no activity, take a gravity sample. It seems unlikely, but you may have missed it, or it just may not be a vigorous fermenter. If the gravity hasn't budged, you probably need to get some new yeast in there.

OP has learned an important lesson about patience...relaxing...and not worrying when it comes to the sport of home brewing.
