    As others are also getting at, the spirit of generosity and supporting the places you believe in is great, and virtually unimpeachable. But human history and hard experience in the world are all-too-littered with the regrettable Unintended Consequences that so innocently began as Noble Intentions...

    I guess we're all just saying, for those of us who are saying it, "be careful what you wish for." The Seattle Beer Scene Blob is an ever-expanding and ravenous monster, increasingly similar to the others already well-entrenched around the country. Maybe trust us when we suggest you don't really want it sprouting a new tentacle with invasive designs on your local domain (unless those places really need our "help" to survive and/or flourish). Attention and publicity follow "greatness" soon enough without our helping it along.

    I admit I am rather new to the craft beer scene and have some naive viewpoints regarding it, and definitely see the point you guys are making.
