True enough. I guess I'll ask if 4 BCBS is a fair trade for a 3F Framboos.

I wouldn't be horribly surprised if that got done.

lots of rare beer on tap @ brouwers today. We're reaching new levels of tap pricing though - I thought I hated 6oz pours, and I do, but really, 5oz pours are f*cking ridiculous

How the hell was Deviation still on last night at 11pm?

I wonder how much they're still holding on to. It can't last forever...

At $10 for 5oz, it could last forever...

I agree, but I've had it all before at their establishments in larger vessels at cheaper prices. Pass

there were some offerings with reasonable prices, too. i thought the two anniversary beers were excellent, as was old bridgerider.

for me, it was a chance to catch up on some PNW "ticks" that have eluded me over the years. not that i'm defending the prices, but it's not like the whole menu is/was overpriced.

I think I'll have my own rare beer tasting. Gotta clear out my cellar sooner rather than later. And it costs no more than what the beers cost me originally.

Deviation's one beer I would have spent $10 for a 5oz pour, just this one time (though I wasn't willing to pony up the $85 or whatever it was for a full bottle @ the BW anniversary sale). Hell, you only live once. I still have a few of the others on that list in my cellar, so wouldn't get too excited about those.

I dropped $10 on Deviation last night. It was good, but not mind blowing or anything. And the whole "up since 4:30am and drinking all day in Portland thing" probably didn't help, either.

I'd love to know just how much they have left in kegs and bottles. It can't last forever.

    Can it?

That sounds like a pretty epic day. And 350 miles in between.

I am surprised Deviation still keeps popping up, but who knows how much is still out there. I don't even how much was produced originally. We'll certainly be seeing some of the more recent BW anniversary beers for years to come.

Speaking of recent BW anniversary beers, BWXIV smelled like rancid rubbing alcohol (if that's possible) and tasted slightly better last night. I'm afraid to open to my last bottle.

Oh that's bad news. I think I have a couple left. Hopefully keeping them refrigerated the whole time kept any degradation to a minimum.

Of the XIV I have three left. Will be popping one sooner rather than later to see how it is. Thanks for the head's up. Also been refrigerated FWIW

This was a keg at Brouwers, by the way. I've seen similar comments on Untappd concerning bottles.

Checking Untappd all I see are high marks. Are we talking about the same beer?
BTW - Devin & KB like it. I respect their opinions as I do yours so very confusing.

Yep. Cascade Bottleworks Anniversary. The pour we had last night at Brouwers smelled absolutely terrible. Extremely high octane alcohol and medicine and it didn't taste much better. I don't remember it being like that in the past and some people I follow on Untappd had said similar things about it late last year.

[shrug] Who knows. I like stuff others don't like, and vice versa.

Only way to find out for sure. I'll be moving a bottle toward the front of the beer fridge soon.
