Sounds like she is overrated and available on the shelf. You gotta find a brewery only version

Any guesses how long before it'll start showing up in stores?

Local bottle shop (Grand Rapids) said they hadn't heard from their distributor yet as to how much they'd be getting and when they'd be getting it.

It's available in GR today. Limit 2 at my usual store.

I've heard that Washtenaw County should see it next week.

It was on sale at both Cascade and Knapp Meijer for $13.49 a bottle, couldn't believe the price vs at Perrin's release. I found some today at a little liquor store by me, 14.99 each and grabbed a couple after hearing favorable reviews for this year's batch. Will report back while drinking one this evening. It seems any shop that wanted this was able to order nearly as much as they wanted, so as expected there's a metric TON of this stuff out there. Hope they sent a good amount to the east side too, hate hearing about 1-2 bottle limits at 19.99 a pop when it sits here for weeks and weeks at no limit and $15 each.

Interesting. The Lansing area stores that got it today received 50% less than last year and it went FAST.

Hmm, very unfortunate. Sucks when I'm hearing about people just hoarding cases and cases on the west side.

Same report. Multiple stores saying things along the lines of "we got 5 cases last year and this year we got 2..." And in the past Lansing got a decent amount. Paid 14.99.

Also no rules seems to be plagued by the "last year's was better" mentality or a surprise that it's sweet. All I can say is I love the shit out of it.

My experience last year on the east side was even the most expensive stores were about the same price as Perrin, so I found no reason to attend the release. Hopefully volume isn't way down as posted above.

So after having some last night I'll say, it's definitely better than last year's. More coconut than last year and not quite as much cinnamon. Not sure if the barrel alcohol flavors are coming forward more this year or if it's the base beer being a little boozy (there's very little oak), but you can tell it's 15% abv, however, it's almost welcomed to help cut through all the sweetness (yea it's a high abv beer w turbinado sugar and coconut, it's always going to be a beetus bomb). I'd talk about how it doesn't stack up to the first batch, but then inevitably all that would get is comments about how "You can't remember what it was like 2 years ago" so we just won't go there haha (even though'15 was better :stuck_out_tongue:)

My little local shop in Portage had about 8 cases of 2017 & 6 cases of 2016 sitting out yesterday at 5pm

Definitely less cinnamon , still a very very very sweet beer. I did like the 17 better than the 16, but I drain poured my 16 and did get through 4oz of 17 that someone was generous enough to share with me last night, so by default I guess I like it more!

Did Meier get No Rules in quantity last year?

I ask because perhaps that could be part of the reason some stores are getting less than they did a year ago? Part of the supply being snatched up by Meier. Same question for Costco.

I've only spoken to two of my beer people and one said they expected to get more than last year (but planned on keeping a 1 bottle per person limit) and the other had no idea.
