No Rules 2017

It actually ended up being about the same availability in A2 as last year. Seems like the stores that didn't get as much had their allocations reassigned to other stores.

That said, this is the third year in a row that there has been supply just sitting around in mass quantities on the west side while the east side has enough that you have to be paying attention and get on it within a day or few of it hitting shelves. I originally thought it was just a quirk of Perrin not really knowing how to line up the demand with the distribution, but I think it's more just a matter of Perrin actively preferring to saturate the west side. Which is fine if that's the idea, since they are based on the west side and may want to favor the geographical area that's most likely to support them.

 

This is the first year I have seen this much on shelves for this long. I suspect that the amount in distribution hasn't significantly changed but rather the perceived trade value has declined sharply, lessening demand.

But I would tend to agree that it is possible that the hometown market received greater quantities than other areas of distribution.

 

Where did you find it in MI for $12.99?

 

That's a good price for sure, but it was fairly easy to find in the first wave at most Meijer stores for just 50 cents more. Meijer price is now $14.99.

 

Still $15.99 at Meijers around Kalamazoo... never have seen it at the $12.99 price point, even the first wave

 

I have never seen it that low, B1, 2 or 3... And that is at the shop here that has consistently the best prices around. Lowest I ever saw was b1 for 13.50.

 

I picked up a bottle for $12.99 at Whole Foods. Had to ask for it as it was kept behind the counter. I think they were limiting them one per customer.

 

$12.99 at Whole Foods? I believe it but that just seems out of the ordinary for a place that is typically a little more expensive. They usually have to work in that standard hipster surcharge they apply to everything.

 

12.99 at Meijers. Price was too good to pass up. It was sitting for a week before the store marked it down.

 

Will this be hitting northern Indiana distro? I know last batch did...

 

Apparently this stuff can't be given away in West Michigan. Meanwhile I'm raking in some awesome stuff on trades for it.

 

Since it's apparently sitting on the shelves on the west side is anyone willing to help a guy out and point me in the direction of a place in Kalamazoo or St. Joe's that would still have some (or I suppose a city I'd drive through on my way east to those cities)? Based on FB the most convenient place for me ran out long ago.

 

Have you tried good ol' Meijer?

 

I'm not in town until Monday, but that does seem to be the place people keep mentioning it hanging around, so I'll give them a call. If plenty of places still have it it's no problem, I just got a bit concerned after seeing the liquor store I had my eyes on post that they sold out a while ago even with a 1 bottle limit.

For what it's worth... I was visiting family in Greenville today and had to pick up a few things from Meijer. There was probably a case or so on an end cap for 14.99.
