I heard from my Artisan rep today that Surly will not be brewing Wet this year. He said that to keep up with demand Surly is having to brew Furious and Hell at both the Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center facilities. Their original plan when opening the Minneapolis brewery was to brew Furious and Hell there, and brew their less fast moving beers in Brooklyn Center. Brewing Furious and Hell in Brooklyn Center means they don't have the room to brew Wet.

    This really sucks.

Oh well, saves me from $18 in disappointment again. So many better wet hops out there anyway.

I actually found last year's Wet to be one of my favorite wet hopped beers. That's a hell of a let down. At least I'll still have Harvest Ale.

I've only ever had the most recent batch but I thought it was underwhelming to say the least. I understand the hops used vary based on supply but it was a weird one.

Given all the whiny butt-hurt I wouldn't bother either.

If that's your criteria, I don't know how you'd find a single beer to drink!

I think the big issue with last years Wet is that is was more of a wet hopped lager. Which is fine, Schell's Fresh Hop Pils was pretty darn good. But I think most of us were expecting a Wet to be a wet hopped IPA, which it certainly wasn't and if that was their target style, they failed pretty hard.

Still don't understand where people got the "it taste like lager" thing from since it definitely wasn't one but to each their own.

I'd be curious to see a 2016 version but I'll be fine without one. Speaking of lager, I just wish they'd ship #Merica to Nebraska...Guess, I'll have to settle for 6/08 furious instead.

This is really surprising to me. This means that Surly is selling so much Furious and Hell that they've already outstripped the capacity of their new $30M brewery. I can't believe they are selling THAT much of those beers and also that they haven't invested in more tanks/capacity at the Minneapolis facility.

My homebrew already has pretty limited distribution.

The stock at my store is within a month of canning at all times. Where are you shopping?

Money Makers and distribution/expansion > a short term costly seasonal. Dont blame them at all its a business decision for a big brewery.

So based on the speed of Surly distro, the next time we see Wet, assuming a fall of 2017 batch, is February of 2018?

Whatever. There's been a number of locals, specifically Castle Danger and Lift Bridge, that have surpassed Surly as far as wet/fresh hop brews go.

I dig hell myself, plan on getting myself a $105 1/2 barrel in the near future even. Fresh furious is nice enough but not something I gravitate too

I had Wet for the first time in the fall of 15 and was underwhelmed (maybe the Axe Man-like prices raised expectations). Lagunitas Born Yesterday and 3F's Broo Doo were examples of the style I liked more.
