In a somewhat promising development for the value conscious among us, Noble's $24 hazy four pack du jour is still available a few hours after it went live.

If it is softening demand perhaps we'll *eventually* see lower prices. Or maybe they scaled up. Or maybe the accidental 7 minute delay did it .

I'm here at BL and a buddy reminded me. I was shocked this was still available. I guess Vito didn't hype this beer up enough I guess. I've never seen price points an issue for neckbeards to buy any hazy ipa but I'm glad I got cans again.

On their instagram story thing, it says they added a few more cases. I’m sure the price and the sale screw up had some people just say forget it.

It's just minutes until this style jumps the preverbal shark. Its simply becoming the norm for breweries everywhere to brew NEIPAs, and as time goes by a LOT of breweries are dialing it in to perfection, thus flooding the market with really good quality hazed juice bombs. An example, I was working in my San Diego office today and before heading back up tonight I dropped in Modern Times to see what cans they had available and was not shocked to see that every single recent on line " special release " NE styled IPA was readily available, from Blam Blam to Attack Frequency to Seeds, all in stock ready to go. I say within months the stupidity will abate, or at least I hope so, bringing fun back to beer and sending all the new money haze bro's looking for the next big thing and back to Mom's basement until then, you know who you are.

    Cheers,

But did you notice the price difference from online sales to store prices? MT tends to bump up a price increase for cans that didn't sell out online. Dragon Mask was $32 a 4 pack in store. For a fucking non ba stout? Yeah that's why it's still available for purchase.

I didn't even bother with this release but I am going to try to get at least one can. The last Can Release was FIRE, tasted a bit of heat on the back end, but never the less still fire.

More cans were added to the pool after I refunded people who tried to purchase more than the limit.

We are definitely going to reassess price points for the upcoming releases for a multitude of reasons, some very obvious and some not so obvious. One crazy thing that happened this week was a new tiered pricing system that Eventbrite tried to roll out the day of our sale. It seems they are trying to increase the fees our customers are paying dramatically unless "event hosts" sign into an exclusive contract with them to host any type of ticketed event. So to that end we will make sure both of those ridiculous things do not happen. I'll keep you all posted on any changes we make. Thanks fam.

Man I wish that was true. While I do agree that everyone seems to be making hazy IPAs now, I think very few are anywhere near perfection. I'd even say that the only place in CA that makes any that can actually compete with the ones I've tried from Treehouse, Trillium, and Tired Hands is Monkish. Which is a bummer because I won't line up for beer so I hardly ever get to drink any. I know a lot of other places brew ones that are well regarded, and it's not that they aren't great beers, but they still aren't in the same league at all, IMO.

I have to agree. Noble, Bottle Logic, Offshoot, Abnormal, Mikkeller, Beachwood and other locals I've probably left out are good at hazy beers but when I tried Monkish for the first (and only) time a few weeks ago the beer was better than the other locals by a wide margin.

Having never had Trillium, Tree House etc. I can't compare. I have had Cloudwater out of the UK, however, and their beers are more like Monkish than any of the local stuff.

The ones noble has released for draft(no cans) I’ve felt have been pretty good. Foghorn to me was meh imo, creature is good but you get that alcohol burn just a bit. Hoping they get better at dialing it.

There is no doubt that Monkish stands head and shoulders above the rest of the field, at least 80% of the beer I drink is Monkish, and almost 100 % of that is growlers, because like you I will not stand in line for beer, nor will my life schedule allow. I probably should not have used the word" perfection "because as we all know taste is subjective. As time goes by however you will see a lot of very good NEIPAs flooding the market, and with this, I do believe we will see more and more beers that will begin to cannabolize market share currently championed by breweries like Tree House, Monkish, Trillium etc.

    Cheers,

Have you had any of the CASA ipas? Those are just as good as monkish, and sometimes better. Had a can from casa followed by a growler of monkish and I️ enjoyed the casa more.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I thought a number of Noble's canned IPAs have stood up to Monkish, namely: 24k, Double Plat, Nuclear Haze, Drops of Jupitar, All Time GOAT, and Juice Is Out There. They aren't all winners (*cough* Men at Murk *cough*), but I think Noble is canning some of the best NE style IPAs in Southern California.

Like OTB said, the shit is subjective.

Definitely subjective enough so that I'm not driving from OC to Torrance on the regular. Monkish is nice, but Noble, Green Cheek and a few others have really got the style nailed. Great time to be a fan of the haze.

You can soon add Modern Times in the OC mix. More haze is on the way.....
