I've had more cans than draft and wish I had more.

Cans are better. I can't imagine how someone would prefer the draft. Where are you drinking the draft?

Lil Roberts Place is a local bottle shop in Concord. Hit them up - they should have Hop Drop.

Hop's & Grapes should have gotten a new alottment this past Wednesday(4/23). Our local stores have to go to NoDa to actually pick up their alottment. If you decide to go to Hops & Grapes, put your email on their email list, they send out weekly updates of all they are getting in that week.

Hop Drop is nothing more than ultra fresh here, it doesn't last long on the shelves. I'm guessing if you stretched it the oldest might be two weeks old. Then they make another run on canning day, no need to over buy Charlotte is only an hour and a half drive. When the distro starts is where it comes unglued, as Distributors stock pile it and it sits in a warehouse and then is doled out to retailers. I thought I saw a pic with a date on a can, not on my last cans though.

Can dating started this Monday, along with a nice little note.

Got a HDnR in a trade, excellent and I thought the tall-boy can was great! Granted I haven't tried it in any other form. I could easily drink it on a beach and getting sand in my solo cup cause of a glass bottle isn't my favorite.

16oz cans at the beach is the business, no glass to piss anyone off. HDR is a perfect beach beer.

It is that, it's as good as any Ipa on the market.

Thoroughly agreed -- in fact, it looks like HDnR is currently about 200 ratings away from joining the BA Top 250 list (assuming the same average rating going forward).

I try and spread the love as much as I can either with a direct trade or adding them as xtras.

Since NoDa has been rightfully cited as America's best IPA for Hop Drop'n Roll, access to this beautifully canned product has become more challenging. Today I overheard a conversation between a local store employee and a consumer inquiring about the availability of Hop Drop'n Roll.
Consumer: "Do you currently have HD'R available?"
Store employee: "No, the owner is going to Charlotte today to pick up HD'R from the brewery".
    Consumer: "Is it fresh?"
I heard part of this conversation and was told of the rest. That folks can be so obsessed with beer freshness and not understand that they are getting the freshest beer possibly available anywhere is a real problem.

There are great retailers across North Carolina sourcing HD'R for their customers and there is no such thing as old HD'R. This is a piece of modern beer culture that is out of control. There may be plenty of aging IPAs- and lots of them are damned good- but with better dating and buying habits, most of us know which beers to trust. Cheers.

I have never had a Hop Drop can that didn't taste fresh. The hops always explodes out of the can when you crack it open.

Anyone try the 4/21 canned date? A head brewer at a brewery near me said he got a lot of diacetyl in this batch and he couldn't get passed it. Maybe it was the can we opened but we drank it side by side with Heady. He said people's threshold for diacetyl will vary. I still love HDR, I was just curious if anyone else sensed the same

Ok, perhaps a dumb question, but where is the canned date?

I'm holding a can upside down at this moment, and it reads 4/28, this "past" Monday. They can every Monday and this batch is as good as ever.
