    Folks,

I'm new to the game and was looking for a bit of guidance on trade values from more experienced peeps. I've scanned old listings for awhile now, but am still trying to pin down things a little more precisely.I realize most of this is off the shelf, so it may not land brewery only/special releases. Thanks for entertaining/attending my remedial, 101 level trading seminar:

    I have this:

    BCBCS x 2
    BCBBW x 3
    Sang Noir '13
I can also get a BCBS x 4 if need be.
I live 10 mins from DC Brau, so I can get cans of OTWOA

Want to land this stuff (not sure if all are classified properly):

    Shelf

    Alpine Nelson and Duet
    La Cumbre Elevated IPA
FFF Permanent Funeral or Alpha King
NG Raspberry Tart, Strawberry Rhubarb or Wisconsin Belgian Red
    Surly Abrasive/Furious/Wet
    Peche n' Brett

Brewery only/special releases (I'm guessing most/all of these are out of reach):

Sour in the Rye with Kumquats/Cherries/Peaches
    CS Raspberry Dark Origins
    SARA bottles
    De Garde anything
    Side Project anything
    Boneyard growlers
    Atrial Rubicite
    Black Tuesday
    Huna
    The Wanderer
    Beatification
    Zombie Dust
HF Anna, Arthur or Geneology of Morals or any others

    Cheers!

I honestly think most of these Shelfs could be done $4$ with OTWOA. It's going to be a bit tricky, in the sense you'll likely need to find someone in California (for Alpine), Indiana (FFF), Wisconsin (New Glarus), Minnesota (Surly) or at least close by, due to the limited distro most of those beers see. Abrasive is in season right now, Wet is old and a good person wouldn't trade it to you, and I don't know about the production status of Furious.

Peche n' Brett is sort of an outlier here, to my knowledge it's only been released twice, and I'm not aware of bottle counts, it may be a bit trickier.

As far as the Brewery only bottles.

I recently traded a Raspberry Dark Origins and Cherry Origins for two BCBCS '13s and some RR shelf stuff. I think you have enough ammo to get a bottle or two. The only thing you have going against you is it was released once, there was a bottle limit, and it's delicious, so I don't know how many more are out there unaccounted for.

The Bruery bottles may be a bit trickier. Last I saw, SitR w/ some fruit was still available for purchase to some level of reserve society member, so you may get lucky and be able to nab that pretty easily, if someone wants to hook you up.

It sounds as if California got a world of BCBS products this year (at least certain areas) so BCBS for Bruery may have some Venn diagram issues. This also goes for SARA. SARA and De Garde are so hot right now, I don't think you have the ammo. I haven't tried either, so I don't know if it's hype or well-deserved, but the response has been overwhelmingly positive, so it must be that good.

Zombie Dust shouldn't be too bad, it probably belongs more on the shelf side of things (w.r.t how FFF works) because you just have to be lucky and get to the pub when they have it.

Atrial and Huna I can't comment too much on. Huna Day is coming up, so the market should be flooded with ISOs and FTs, so keep an eye out and see what they're going for. AR seems to be pretty well received and may be able to be pried away with a combination from what you have.

HF trades all over the place, so you may have enough, may not, hard to say with any certainty.

Slight Aside, Sang Noir, while delicious, doesn't really hold much value beyond convenience and locals because it can be ordered directly from Cascade and shipper to your house (not now because of the weather) , at a surprisingly convenient price.

Hope this helps. If anything is confusing, let me know and I'll try and clear it up a bit more

Wicked lesson, professor! Thanks. I think you covered most of the bases, but I may send you a message or two. Anyone have thoughts on number of BCBCS or BCBBW to a Black Tuesday?

Probably like a 4 pack for one. $for$ makes sense to me.

Don't consider anything I said as gospel. It's just one man's opinions on how certain beers are trading as of late. People could easily come in here and dispute everything I said, and they would be just as right as I am. So much of good trading is finding the right person.

Focus more on hooking up people when you start, and building regular trading partners, than finding ISO:X FT:Y. Your reputation is the only real thing you have 100% control of, and if you take care of people, they'll take care of you.

I think the best way to start, until you get shipping/packing/stronger opinion of markets is straight locals for locals. DC Brau/Devil's Backbone/DC Distro, which is a weird distro, is a great place to start. Get your feet wet, learn the process, build some cred.

To your BT question, BT is a $30 Members only beer (someone please correct me if I'm wrong), so if you find the right person my gut says somewhere around a mixed 4pack and maybe a couplelocals could get it done.

    A 4-pack would be short about $10 on $4$

Not sure how long you have been in DC, but Nelson, Duet, AK, and Surly have all been on the shelf at Connecticut Avenue Wine at one point or another. You'll pay handsomely for it, but it may be worth it to you.

FWIW, 90% of the time, these are shelf and worth ~ $9-$11 each. Around Christmas, stores are flush with them but as you get farther way from the holidays, they can sometimes be more difficult to find. Unless you're really dying to have one, don't let someone try to take you for more than that.

Only pointing this out as I've seen traders try to pass these off as rare, and aside from being WI only, they're not.

Thanks guys. All really useful stuff. I have been by Connecticut Ave Liquor recently a couple times, but didn't see any of the stuff I was looking for. I'll keep an eye out.

Agreed, the NG fruits can be considered a gas station beer in many parts if Wisconsin.

sitr with kumquats was easy as hell for any RS member to get for quite a while and quite good. you should have no issues getting one of those. the peach variant on the other hand was hoarders society only and will be a much more difficult sell.

Not most places. You seem to shout out about things you know not much about other places. You seem annoying almost every time you post. Why don't you quote the $9.99 4/packs from New York.

FWIW, BCBS and variant four-packs have been $16-18 in Wisconsin.

Where? In what part of the state. Certainly not the western part. Don't get me wrong... I've got more than enough BCBS, but the varients were hard to get. Even the BCBS was hard to find if they let you have more than one bottle. Backyard hasn't even hit MN or Western WI that I know of. I got my Prop and Backyard from a trade in Chicago. I think I found 3 BCBCS and two Barleywhines and I don't work so I had all the time in the world to look.
