I wanted to possibly start homebrewing & wanted to know what the basic needs are. I've used & have a Mr. Beer but wanted to possibly upgrade. Any possible tips & tricks & starting out answers would be really appreciated. Thanks, Jason.
I'd say one of the first things to decide is how much beer do you want to make. The production from a MrB keg may be a good match to your consumption. OTOH...you may want to produce enough to stock a modified chest freezer with four taps.
I recommend you find a homebrew club near you. You can pick their brains and ask lots of questions. You can also ask to sit in on a brew session with someone. That's priceless.
A homebrew club would be ideal, but if there isn't one around you maybe there is a good homebrew supply store nearby, with the emphasis on the word good. If it is run by actual homebrewers they can be a lot of help, especially if you buy your supplies from them(support the locals when possible).
