Until my recent move to the Bay Area, I wasn't bothered by the way the forums were divided. However, now the idea of a 'Pacific' forum seems a bit ridiculous given the distance between the LA/SD markets from the SF market (and the fact that while it includes AK and HI, is essentially just California). I'm sure this has been debated in the past, but would be interested to hear if anybody agrees/disagrees on whether it should be further segmented.

The way it is seems reasonable to me. Some of the other regional forums cover larger areas. For example, South Atlantic covers from VA/WVA to FL, Richmond to Miami is like 2x the distance as SF to LA. AK is not in the Pacific forum, fyi.

The only change that needs to be made is to include VA, MD and DC in the same region.

I think the US regional forums are fine, but it could be useful to add sorting tags for individual states, which would probably satisfy your issue too. See the sorting tags in the Canada and Europe regional forums for an example of what I'm talking about.

I agree that the tags would be useful - especially for example in the South Atlantic forum where requests for suggestions come up for cities that exist in multiple of the states without specificity (i.e., Greenville).

Yeah, I have similar experiences in the Mid-Atlantic forum I check on. I'm sure every region could say the same of theirs.

Relatedly, the Mid-Atlantic regional forum has many ongoing brewery-specific discussions that are constantly updating with releases and people talking about them, which is all fine and good, but they tend to drive other regional topics down the page quickly. Being able to sort the discussions by states would at least cut down on a portion of those brewery-specific discussions for people looking for other regional information. I can't say if the of brewery-specific discussions are as prevalent in other regional forums.
