I'm in Kinston at Mother Earth. There is absolutely nothing to do here. Does anyone know of any good bottle shops somewhat nearby. Please help!
I was gonna say find a Harris Teeter but it seems they are not there either...lol. Check the places section on the forum, looks like you need to drive to Greenville NC or Goldsboro NC. Looks like Greenville would be the best bet 30 miles away. http://beeradvocate.com/beerfly/list?city=Greenville&c_id=US&s_id=NC
Bit late to the party here but Beer Army in New Bern is the best (in my opinion obviously) for bottle shops on the coast. Though to be fair I'm not that familiar with the Greenville scene.
Maybe too late, but Chef and the Farmer is a great restaurant that is a block or so away from Mother Earth. They have a bottle shop connected to the restaurant.
I agree with Brentk56. In Kinston, there are two beer options, Mother Earth and Chef and the Farmer's bottle shop. If you're lucky, they'll both be open when you're thirsty.
Awww, I'm bummed that I missed this thread! The obvious choices are Chef & the Farmer and The Red Room. Chef doesn't have crazy options for beer, but good classics and amazing food. Red Room is your standard bar with occasional good beers on tap/bands playing. Or you could say what's up to my parents and get them to cook bangin' ass food for ya. Edit: The Boiler Room is relatively new and has amazing burgers/couple of good beers on tap. Check it next time you're in town.
Damn I was in kinston Saturday, wish I woulda seen this earlier Edit- I say that like I don't live in kinston, whoops.
How hard is it to find Event Horizon right now? I'll be traveling through Winston Salem and hoping to get some Olde Hickory beers.
That's awesome. Sadly I will not be going to any shops til Friday, but hopefully i'll be able to snag some to bring back with me.
Cindirene's in Ayden and while you're there go to the Skylight Inn for some of the very best Eastern North Carolina barbecue you will find.
And stop at Bum's for some great side dishes. Cabbage collards (a local dish primarily found in eastern North Carolina) and rutabagas are at the top of the list. I always get BBQ at Skylight and then pick up the veggies at Bum's to take home.
I will have to do that the next time I'm down there. Too bad that the Q at Bum's doesn't quite measure up.
