Well, I don't know how they might do it, but another similar plant thrives nearby and just may provide some meaningful experience to the current researchers. While camping in the area, I've seen and heard the huge National Guard choppers shooting through the valleys looking for illicit vegetation. Hops makes perfect sense and the damned stuff is legal and valuable.
