Any recommendations for good food and beer close to the airport? Is the Coast taproom close by, and a good place to visit? Thanks.
EVO- best pizza and have a handful of good beers on tap. Holy City. I didn't think Coast had food unless a food truck shows up. Further into town there's Tattooed Moose and of course Edmund's Oast.
Coast is open thurs-sat, brew cellar has some great beer, EVO and Sesame have good food. All these places are close to each other and close to the airport
COAST doesn't have much of a taproom at all, but the beer is worth going for and they do have a food truck pretty often.
I was up in Charleston a couple of weeks ago. Holy City is a 10 min drive from the airport and they have an in house kitchen with pretty decent food. Beer was just ok, nothing special. Coast is about the same distance, small tasting room nestled inside the brewery. Again, beer was good but nothing mind-blowing so to speak. Very limited hours so look out for that before venturing out. If you have a car (I did), make the trek south about 10 miles (15-20 mins tops) to the Tattooed Moose (food is great and they had some good stuff on draft). Edmund's Oast is down the street and I highly recommend as well. Beautiful space with a nice bar and some outside seating as well. Food is as good as it gets in CHS and imo easily the best beer list in CHS. Keep in mind, bar opens at 4:30 I believe
I wasn't really looking for bottles but I always go to the Charleston Beer Exchange. All the Evil Twin you can handle, a bunch of Mikkeller and lots of local stuff (I picked up a bottle of ET/WB collabo called Mini Growler). They do a pretty good job keeping their website updated so check that out, growler fills as well. I went to a Whole Foods and a Harris Teeter and they had Westbrook stuff (nothing rare) and again a ton of local options
