O.K. lots commented on the negative side on my other post regarding this subject, now I'm going to as well. I have always loved the place, the pub or bar area of the taproom is my favorite pub that's not in England. Cask Red Seal is my favorite domestic beer and always seems to be in top form. we had a house in Fort Bragg for a couple of years and the area has been a weekend getaway of ours for years. Since re opening after some 'kitchen renovations' this is what I have found out. First the beer engine is up and running and the cask Red Seal was superb. Positives stop there. According to multiple staff whom I know and consider friends, the closing on Mon-Tues is permanent, even in the busier months. So no more Taco Tuesday, an immensely popular evening that we personally loved very much as well. No more lunch, at all, even on the weekend. The taproom opens not until 4, the restaurant at 5. The menu is the biggest mystery and in my opinion a joke. Nothing but overpriced appetizers and pizza, that's it, plus a few daily specials. Those total 3-4 options. The pizza is 12 inches which amounts to what a meduim? While it looked good I won't pay 17-19 bucks when I can go to Piaci and get a 16 inch pizza for 2 bucks more. So we went in, drank a picther of cask, left and had dinner elsewhere. We returned and drank another pitcher of cask. We now have much less reason, and a much more difficult time planning a trip there with these changes. If they don't want to properly run the taproom they should sell it and have someone do it right. I can't see it any other way than they have set themselves up for much less patronage. Piaci must be laughing their asses off on a daily basis. My very frustrated and disappointed 2 cents.

I was already starting to lean towards Piaci's when we visit FB. These changes seem to seal the deal. It's too bad because North Coast really is an institution.

Yes it is too bad, while I like Piaci too, I prefer drinking at North Coast as I can't get enough of good cask ale. The Taco Tuesday was just so much fun and the locals have really been pissed on and frankly disrespected by it's being dropped. It really is mystifying why they have made the changes they did. Many folks like to center their getaways around beer, waiting for late afternoon for the place to open or finding it closed will be a real turn off for folks headed there and not knowing.
