Yeah, I have to agree with this. To be honest, and I appreciate any advice, Trader Joe's in NY doesn't really have much of a selection.

Last, was hoping for some local recommendations. I'm mostly an IPA, pils, lager, stout guy.

This was part of my original question. I'm leaving early tomorrow, I love Swamis, but does anyone have any suggestions local beer wise?

El Segundo has Mayberry in 6k bottles. If you hit up Total Wine in LB they may have Kern River in 6pk cans. You said you like Swamis. Have you had Kook > fresh? I like steve me Alpine Windows Up every now and then > when fresh. There's a lot of good NE style or Hazy IPA to be had the these days. But you prob won't find them much at Toral Wine.

Yeah, not a big Total Wine fan. We don't have them around where I live, but in Virginia and Florida I found them...lacking? I'd always rather have local shit, and TWs I feel pale in comparison to the ol' local bottle shop. I'll keep my eyes out for Kook, always wanted to try it. Like I said though, I don't want to get too nuts about things, this is a rough time, and in no way am I putting looking for beer in front of family.

Smog City Steelcraft currently has three lagers on right now: Lil Bo Pils, South Bay Lager, and German Pils (none of these are available in bottles, though, if you want them to go)

Went to the TW because my parents wanted vodka and wine and ended up with Kook, Modus Hoperandi (can't get that in NY), El Segundo Mayberry IPA, and Barley Forge Future Tripping DIPA. The Kook is a bit old, but still very tasty and the El Segundo is great. Very helpful people at the TW and one of them recommended Monkish which I never realized was in Torrence so we may take a stop there. Thanks for all the advice, although the circumstances suck, it's pretty cool to see my family and be able to have a few drinks with them.

If you go to Monkish, Smog City is just a short walk down the street, and worth a visit as well.

Hitting LAX later, taking Virgin Atlantic back to NYC, anyone got any suggestions, beer/bar wise, as far as time to kill in whatever terminal I'll be in? Thanks in advance.

    Yeah what @da_beer_badboy said ^above^
You'll be out of T6. Get the Habit Burger for food. Totally worth it at the terminal. There's a Golden Road across from the Habit. If your feeling like a last brew before your flight. I guess it's better than nuthin'. Safe travels back.
