North Park Beer Co. (2021)

I had another beer from North Park the other day that had Nectaron in it. I don't remember the name of the beer, but after my first sip I was checking the can to see what type of hop was in it. Good stuff.

Ordered a mix case of local delivery last week. Birdie to Bogie is completely outstanding hoppy Pils. Fresacito is a delicious strawberry sour; Win the West, Archaic Technology and What the Eek are all fabulous WCIPA.

I could live on NP and Eppig alone, not that I would, but I mean, I could....if for some reason I had too.....

 

Anyone get an email yet for the lottery of MBBD?

 

Nothing yet for me. The email did say "some time after 2pm Saturday". So who really knows when that will be.

Ah grats. I struck out. A few friends won the lottery though so hopefully when bottleshares become a thing again I will get to try it.

 

Nobody talking about BA mostra before dying ? Seems I was selected for a bottle. Didn’t even look at the price point when entering but $45 for a 500ML and having to drive round trip to San Diego for 1 bottle makes me feel like I’m crazy.

 

I'm batting 1.000 for losing on their lotteries via Onzr so far. Pretty good streak. =P

My brother thought the same. A place near abnormal had a collab. with a south carolina brewery that was great as well. He mentioned bottles were going for 30$. not sure what it was though aside from, "man this is literal smooth liquid chocolate, no joke". ok i suppose. I'll see later on tonight as I asked to grab me a bottle as well.

 

No surprise but the latest WCIPA, Mechanical Dankness, is quite nice.

The latest batch of Hop Fu is probably the best I have had.

Poured Art Is Hard, Didn’t like the color at all. Sipped it and taste was very light and bland. Drain poured. This is probably my 3rd or 4th time ever on a drain pour. Rinsed and opened another can of AIH. Same thing. Didn’t bother tasting. Drain pour.I opened up a can of Hop Fu. Delicious as heck. The 4pk I bought along with Hop Fu was probably a week plus ago. So I’m guessing the cans are no more than 2 1/2-3 weeks old. The problem is these guys don’t stamp their cans with a born on date or anything. Nothing. As big as they are why don’t they date the cans man?

 

they do date them, but they recently switched from the standard bottom of the can stamp, to a hard to find date somewhere on the side. took me a long time to find it on the new sorta mostly dead because of the dark blue, but it's there, and I'm 95% sure it was on hop fu. if not, it was canned July 12 or 13, pretty sure.

 

I think you just got unlucky and got some bad cans. Something similar happened to me with a can of Simple Division: very unpleasant color and bland/off aroma that screamed oxidation. The color on your Art Is Hard is very close to what I experienced with SD. I noted it when I posted notes on that beer on Untappd and whoever runs the North Park social media/Untappd, provided me with an email to contact them about it. So I did but basically just said I was disappointed but not super disgruntled or demanding anything; this is the first and only negative incident I've had with a NPBC beer and they seemed primed to help me out.

 

Yup you be right @hbbeeremptor. More likely bad cans man. Found the date. O7062021. That’s unfortunate.
