Looking for good bottle shops and brewpubs near North Topsail Beach. Anything within about a 30 minute drive is good. Found Swingbridge Beer & Wine in Surf City. Thanks in advance.

Hop sail Island just opened in surf city in June- haven't been up there yet. According to their FB page they have 24 taps, do growler fills and sell bottles to go. Fermental in Wilmington is probably closer to 45 minutes away but has a great selection. You'll have to head to Wilmington if you wan to visit some breweries or brewpubs. Someone else may be able to comment on the options in Jacksonville. Cheers!

@grees20 Swingbridge Wine & Beer was the only true bottle shop on the island until Hopsail opened up. If you go off the island the Lowes Foods has a decent craft beer selection but no bombers. Those are probably your only close options for buying craft beer to take home outside of driving the 30-40 minutes south on 17 to Fermental or 30 minutes north into Jacksonville to Wines & Wares.

Jacksonville is my home town so I'm pretty familiar with what it has to offer and unfortunately the options are slim compared to Wilmington. You're in luck though, the bars on Topsail actually have a surprising amount of craft lines on draft. My favorite bar is the Brass Pelican. If you walk in you'd think it was a complete dive but then be completely shocked by how many of her draft lines are craft beer. Her bottle selection is also almost entirely NC beer and you can go out back to play games on the deck. I'd also highly recommend checking out Trailer Bar. It looks like a double wide trailer but they usually have live music and craft cans/bottles. Gallagher's is a sports bar nearby as well that usually has a fair selection of local beers to try.

In Jacksonville the only real beer bar option is Carolina Ale House. It's a chain but the food is pretty good and they have an extensive craft beer selection. Just expect that it will be packed on the weekend. Nearby Camp Lejeune is home to the 2nd Marine Division so all of the restaurants are jam packed Fri-Sun (especially if its a payday weekend).
