Anyone make it there yet? They opened today. Curious to see what impressions are. I plan to hit it later tonight. If I'm the first to get there, I'll report back. Prost!
Just got back. It was super packed, but we got food and beer really fast. The beer was delicious, as was the food. I will definitely go back soon.
This has to be the first new, non Granite City brewpub in the metro since what, Barley Johns , ten plus years ago? Only other brewpub i recall opening since then is the Boathouse in Ely. 'Bout time.
Not yet. I went there last night and had all their beers plus the smoked trout wrap and some fries and onion rings. Deliciousness all around.
Pricey. All the sandwiches are like 8-10 bucks and they don't come with sides. I am really starting to hate that trend.
No growlers for at least a few weeks. He's got to get up and running and have enough brewed to keep the pub full of beer.
I stopped by yesterday, it's a nice little place. I had the Smoked Porketta, which was fantastic and the house made barbecue sauce that came with it was damn tasty. That was accompanied by a pint of the Columbus Pale Ale, a fine brew, nothing special but definitely a solid beer.
I swung by last night after dinner. The place was still hopping around 10:00. I had the Columbus Pale Ale and my girlfriend had the Big Jim IPA. Both beers were decent but nothing overly special. I'm sure I'll make it back at some point once the crowds start to die down.
I enjoyed the porter last night. It was nice and smokey. I also tried a bit of the wild rice amber and the big Jim. The onion rings were awesome. For only being open for two days, I was impressed. I'm excited to see what they can do once they are up and running full speed.
