Hello, I will be traveling from Florida to the Northeastern United States. What Northeast regional beers are a must try?
You could maybe narrow your geography down a bit, but if you're going to be in Massachusetts, Trillium and Treehouse are no-brainers.
There is an entire section of this site dedicated to regions. Not sure where in the Northeast you're headed, maybe making a long trip through the whole very large area of it, but definitely many great suggestions in the New England forum. https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/forums/new-england.13/
If you start looking in Philly you can drink your way north on I95 all the way into Maine. Bring ice chests so you can ice down beers that you buy to bring home. Bring many ice chests.
Mason Jar is off l 95 at Fuquay Varina all they do is Lagers and they do a pretty good job with that. I’m not aware of any others in NC off 95. I forgot about Richmond there’s probably 2-3 breweries there that are easily worthwhile. So to the OP check out Veil, easy access from l95.
The one brewery I visited in Richmond a couple of months ago is Triple Crossing and I would recommend them. I discussed this in a past NBS thread: "At the first stop of Richmond, VA the hotel we stayed at was walking distance to the Triple Crossing downtown taproom so away we went. It was a slow night (Sunday evening) so we had a chance to chat at length with the bartender (who was very knowledgeable). It turns out that the downtown brewery (a 7 barrel brewery) was mostly used to brew lagers and their other larger production brewery in a nearby Industrial Park mostly brewed their ales. I had an opportunity to drink several small pours (4 ounces) and I really enjoyed drinking all of those beers. The one beer that really stood out for me was their Czech Dark Lager so I decided to ask for a full pour of that beer. I thought that beer was very, very good!"
I would say in that area you should check out Grey Sail in RI, Tilted Barn in RI, and cross the border into CT to go to Beer'd in Stonington and definitely Fox Farm in Salem, furthest from you but definitely worth it. Good luck on the beering.
Unfortunately Maine is closed Until further notice. Plz keep raging the beach in FL & see you in 2021!
