So, I'm new to the site, and to the craft brew scene I'm my area. Somewhat recently, a brewery by the name of sleepy owl opened in my little town and it got me wondering:"What regional offerings are there?" I've since added "good offerings" to that question, since some can be just as bad as macro brews. I started my craft brew experience three years ago in the summer time with Arrogant Bastard Ale in little Boone, North Carolina. That beer kicked my pallet in the dick and drug me through the dirt by the tongue, and I loved every sip of it. To me, a good brew is like being told or reading an amazing story. Sometimes a dark, thick mystery, complex in nature and full of surprises is good. Other times a nice light, happy and bright story is all you need, and it's simple enough to enjoy over and over again. That being said, I'm still very much a beginner in beer tasting in my mind. I still don't quite like hop forward beer yet, but I very much enjoy porters an stouts. Anyway, who's in the area?! Glad to be aboard.
Welcome! If you're in NE Tennessee, you're close to one of the craft beer meccas of the region, Asheville NC. More breweries than one liver can handle, so take a spare.
Oh yeah, just an hour away or so. Love Asheville. Some buddie of mine actually play music at frog level often. Hope to get in on their scene soon and maybe even play some tunes. Good music, good beer. Not much better than tht my fiend. I'll do what I can to dig up a spare
